Credit Card Concierge Service to Source a Rolex?
This might sound like a really ridiculous questions but it just popped into my mind so I thought I would ask.
Is there anyone on here who has tried to use their concierge service on a very exclusive credit card to try to source a hard to get Rolex Model? Example: Amex Centurion, Bank of Dubai First Royale MasterCard, JP Morgan Palladium You would think that some of these concierge services would have connections to jewelers/ADs as they probably cater toward some of their clientele All the best. |

No clue if this will work, but I love the outside the box thinking.

There have been at least a couple of threads about this, but I don’t recall anyone reporting actual success.

I would guess that VIP concierge services do have connections in ADs, but the ADs still only get a handful a year of the desirable watches in question so it’s back to square one really.

Haven’t seen this work for anyone on TRF. Don’t really see the incentive for the AD.

Saw a thread about this recently and no reported success. They’ll probably direct you to some grey dealer

They may be able to help look for a piece if they choose, but they probably will be in the same boat as the rest of us. |

I actually tried that with my hotel, I’m staying at the turnberry in Miami, I come down around 5 times a year and had my wedding here so I figured I would ask the concierge. And no can do

A guy at work used to work the concierge service at a major credit card company. From what he says, the concierge service can facilitate certain things if there are contracts established with the vendors. Beyond that, they are not some genie in a bottle.

the point of this stuff for high net worth people is time is money so someone else does it. Cost isn't the driving force, convenience is.

I did for a Richard Mille (what do you buy for the guy who has everything else?).. Amex was AWESOME. They even had the Jeweler in NYC meet me at the office building and surprise my dad at work. Never tried this with a Rolex, but for a watch that costs significantly more, they went far out of their way.

They brought a few. He chose the RM029 (not especially impossible to get, but they did make buying a watch into an experience other than being ignored or treated badly.)

No complaints about Amex personally. I think they are great. If It was an available watch doesn’t surprise me they go the extra mile especially considering the merchant fees they collect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I suspect they would get you an inflated offer from a Gray dealer

Not a bad idea actually. But now it’s out in the open.
I’m calling Amex now.

Nope, just a watch (and a hateful guy making rude accusatory comments on a mythical bridge). yeah, it happened. It's an invitation only amex. If you know about it, good for you.

Amex Concierge will get you no further than you can get on your own. They can do research but all they're going to do is help you pull up Chrono24, Jomashop, and WatchRecon. Don't expect them to have relationships with any AD's, especially Rolex which are mostly high turnover businesses and not very steady.

Doubtful. The ADs still will want to leverage their SS sports watches into multiple less "desirable' purchases
