Were any of the Tudor Chrono 791** case backs marked with 9420?

I've read where Tudor would use excess casebacks from other references that fit the same case. Not sure if that's fact though.

Yes.

I seems Tudor did use excess casebacks from the older 942** series.

I think for early batch of 791x0 tudor chrono, it is possible to use case back with 9420 at the transition period.

791x0 tudor chrono started at S/N of around 26x,xxx.

Thanks for the info bagel. I was wondering when and what serial period the 791x0 came out.

For 791x0 chrono, the serial no. range is from around 27x,xxx (or 26x,xxx) to B63x,xxx while the "B" was added at early 30K serial.

The first 791xo I have ever seen is 27x,xxx and the last 94xx0 I have ever seen is 26x,xxx.

Here´s the evidence guys.......

....Just cracked the old Bigblock open. My watch has a 9420 case back. Sorry for the poor pics...I´m really bad at taking good ones. The watch is a 79180 with B57495XX serial (circa 1993)

Just use the links below. The pics are high res.

Thanks a lot Davvan. It is nice to see another one with the differing case number. Great looking watch by the way.
