18K Gold "P" serial Submariner
http://cgi.ebay.com/18K-Gold-Rolex-S...QQcmdZViewItem
I think this is a fake. My reasons: 1) Telltale fuzzy pictures 2) Seems to be a hijacked account because a lot of miscellaneous cheap buying activity for the past two months 3) Wrong font on the 0's on the bezel, I think, on the one clear picture 4) Bracelet links don't seem to taper 5) And this is the one I am least sure of -- shouldn't "P" serial submariners have non lug hole cases?? Well that's my two cents.

"P.S. I HAVE HAD SO MANY ATTEMPTED SCAMS ! PLEASE DON'T ASK ME TO DO ANYTHING CRAZY ! I AM A REAL PERSON SELLING A REAL WATCH ! I WILL VERIFY MY RESIDENCE AND OR PHONE NUMBERS IF NECESSARY ! AND ALSO NO MORE PHONY CASHIER'S CHECKS ! THEY ARE EASIER TO SPOT THAN YOU THINK !" If the watch is a fake, perhaps the seller isn't even aware? Ask that he provide an official appraisal from a Rolex AD, and you can then contact the AD to verify the appraisal and authenticity of the watch that they inspected is the same watch that is listed here for sale. Also, I would inquire why the seller doesn't have the boxes to go along with this watch....lastly, I would ask for the serial #, and if he gives it to you, run it by Rolex to see if it comes back to a match of this same make and model as well as the original AD that sold the watch in 2003. And yeah, I would demand that he take more HIGH QUALITY photos of the watch from various angles, that are clear and not blurry! (As far as the seller having other misc items for sale in his ebay account that are unrelated to watches....that's not too concerning always, as that may just mean that this is a homegrown seller that sells various items he comes across, including his own watch....usually its only the powersellers or official "grey market" dealers that sell nothing but one item, i.e. watches or rolexes, etc. because that is their primary business....unlike Joe Schmoe that sells his kitchen sink and everything in it, including the Rolex watch. ) Personally, I would not feel comfortable buying from this seller, but primarily because it is nearly impossible to tell the condition of this watch. I think if I were to consider purchasing a high dollar item (Rolex, etc.) from an ebay seller, it would have to be from a powerseller, and from a "grey market" dealer that sells nothing but high end watches, and back his products with an independent warranty for at least the first year after the purchase. |

Two for me.
You make several good points but what I think was the real red flag for me was the fuzzy pictures. I have yet to see any legitimate seller post an item for sale with such bad images.

It's gone. But it looked fake to me. The gold looks off.
