Tudor Prince Oysterdate - Questions

I’m trying to determine the legitimacy of this watch. Here are the items that concern me:

Has no serial number etched on outside casing.

Face cover is not crystal but plastic.

Has some slight pitting on screw back.

Four corners on back casing have “half-moon” marks where the metal band used to fit.

Date made.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Tony

From what I can see from the picture it looks good to me.
The hands are correct Tudor Oyster Date hands.
The dial is a typical Rolex/Tudor linen style and matched with the hands would date the watch from approximately the mid to late 70's.
Being signed just Swiss at 6 is correct.
The serial number should be between the lugs, but they can wear through braclet rubbing, which is the way the marks were made on the case under the lugs.
The bracelet this watch would have worn was a folded Oyster bracelet, which probably got worn out and replaced with a strap, which happens a lot.
The crystal would be acrylic.
The cyclops magnification seems off, but it might be a camera trick or an aftermarket crystal (no big deal).
Hope this helps

Any #s would be on the case between the lugs, covered by the band.

Where are you expecting the #'s to be?

Obviously you are considering buying it.
Whats the seller asking.

I thought the SN would be between the lugs, but the only marking is "stainless steel". I looked under the band and didn't see anything there either.

Do all Tudor's have the serial number marked between the lugs? Or do some only have it written inside the back cover.

This is a watch I purchased about 8 years ago, paid around $350.

sometimes the serial is very hard to read without a loupe...they where not stamped as deep IMO during that period and many seem shallow and hard to read..
