AD Called, made my Christmas

I’ve been on this forum for a while and learned so much. One thing I learned is how hard it is and how long it takes to get certain models. It certainly made me less frustrated from constantly not being able to get the watch I want (Batman Jubilee or “batgirl” hate that name)

I’ve been trying to get the “batgirl” for almost a year and half with no luck, tried so many different AD’s and even met the owner of several Rolex stores through a friend and still couldn’t get one. I’d only purchased once watch from the local AD which I passed over to my uncle, it was a new two tone sea dweller. Spent $17k for it and gave to my uncle for what I paid, figured no loss no harm and not really flipping it for a profit plus he wanted it!

I regularly stop in, talk to my salesperson there and leave. Just have a good conversation and no, don’t say anything about the watch.

I got a call last Friday and she asked if I’m in town, I said yes. She told me she does not have the batgirl I wanted but her manager gave her a special piece and to make her favorite client happy for Christmas. She thought of me, and said would I be interested in a Pepsi?

I was 100% blown away, I drove to the store a few hours later and purchased it. I had wanted a Pepsi ever sense they were introduced but gave up because of how hard it was to get one, how long people on the forum said they waited and spent, and what the reps in all the AD’s told me. I’m not a person that can afford to spend tons of money with an AD to be a VIP, just a guy that makes a decent living and loves watches!! That’s my story! Also my first Rolex and hopefully I can add a few more later on! Thanks folks for all the great info on here and I hope to contribute more in the future!!

Congratulation! Great watch. I have a very similar story with my blro which I picked up last Monday from my AD. Enjoy your watch.

Great story and a wonderful acquisition. Glad you were able to get the BLRO - is is such an icon and I think a better GMT than the BLNR. Enjoy the heck out of it, nice looking GTS you have as well!

Bouquet of flowers says I love you. I would not do that but demonstrating your appreciation and keeping the relationship with the AD going is very important as you say. Some Godiva chocolates or a very nice bottle of wine or Champaign would be more appropriate IMO. Try explaining to the wife why you’re giving the sales lady flowers.

comparing to other brands like AP's royal oak diver, the pepsi's is only half the price but looks as gorgeous as the royal oak diver imho. its really a steal! congratulations!
