Buying My First Rolex - Update: I received the call today! Latest: Ive got it!

Original Post: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=719932

Hi Everyone,

So I posted on Saturday that I received the call and was heading in to get my first Rolex - The Explorer.

As promised here is the pics below - an amazing experience and a proud day for me.

Ever since a young age I aspired to owning my first Rolex and after not doing very well in my school years ive managed to turn it around and achieve some things, capping it off so far with this beauty just after my 26th Birthday.

I will probably post another thread next week giving a little review of how im getting on but if anyone has any questions please ask away.

Im very happy - hope you guys enjoy the pics and im happy im now officially party of the best club :)

Congratulations! Happy for you and enjoy the purchase. It looks like the AD also gave you red carpet treatment as well.

Enjoy it!

Congratulations. That’s incredible - I’ve been quoted 18 months to 2 years in 2 other North West England AD’s - you’ve done really well. You’ll be telling us next you even got a discount!

Hi Winst, wow thats a long wait - im guessing thats with WOS Group? I got the same estimates.

If you are still waiting id be happy to introduce you to me SA at my AD? I think you'd be waiting a lot less than that.

Thanks Joe will take you up on that if I ever decide to go back to an Explorer, but because of the quoted wait I bought a Tudor Black Bay 41 with a lovely Blue Dial from an AD in a special sale brand new for only £1500 as a stop gap and I’ve become really attached to it. Because it has similar traits to the Explorer but obviously isn’t a Rolex I am tempted to keep hold of it as a daily wearer and then go for something like a Panarai Luminor. All the best though and enjoy that lovely watch of yours!

thankyou @Daniel12. As silly as it sounds I am thinking of where I can take it on its first adventure.

I dont think so, they are service pouches that you only usually get once youve sent your watch off for a service - think I got lucky as I said I was scared of scratching it when travelling on business so they gave me one!
