Picking the right Daytona Oysterflex

I currently own a Cameron Deep Sea and a Rhodium YM. For my next Rolex I am heavily leaning towards a PM Daytona. I love the look of the Oysterflex strap. I’m a jeans and T-shirt guy so a full bracelet in PM would be a bit much for me.

With the scarcity of these models it’s hard to see them side by side and make a decision. There are plenty of pics on TRF to go by, but how did you guys pick a specific reference?

I’ve wanted rose gold for 10+ years, but the YG with champagne/YG face looks amazing in photos. The WG seems to be the far and away fav.

I can get 12% off whichever I choose from my AD but it’s highly unlikely I’ll be able to see them all side by side to make an in person decision on which I like best.

Would appreciate feedback from all on how you made your decision.

Go platona if you want under the radar PM on a bracelet :) or WG w/ blue dial.

This Oysterflex gets tired after a while. Full bracelet is much more solid and lasting.

Jeans and t-shirt guy? Me too, and the WG has performed beautifully in that role for me.

The WG/Platona suggestions above are also good, albeit considerably more expensive. If you can get 12% off a 519, that would be my choice all day long.

I Agree with Larry, the WG will make for a perfect t shirt and jeans watch. However, you already have 2 awesome casual options. The YG Newman dial is as sporty as it gets, yes, PM, but still casual and will look great with any outfit. I say add some gold to your group.

This was kind of my thinking. While I do want it to work with tshirt and jeans, I need one watch to dress up more than what I’ve got. I think I can eliminate WG just because I already have 2 silver watches.

This model looks totally different in the real. For some reason, it just does not photograph well. This a must see in person to appreciate type of watch.

That’s the one I thought I wanted the most, until I saw some great yellow gold shots. Maybe I can find a reseller in SoCal that has both so I can see them side by side before buying from my AD.

WG steel dial #1 IMO. RG black dial #2.

The WG gets the edge from the sunburst dial which keeps it looking dynamic over time vs the black.

I own the full YG 116508 with black dial and champagne subdials (PN dial) and LOOOOOVE it. My favorite watch I own.

I wear it w/ casual clothes all the time and works well. It's a very sporty watch and being YG it obviously dresses up well too. Very versatile for a full YG watch.

However, it is too flashy for work IMO. At least where I work.

If I wanted a PM Daytona that I could wear ANYWHERE, I would go with one of the Wg options. Likely in this order:

WG steel dial, black subdials
WG Oysterflex
WG blue dial

I’m all in the white gold Oysterflex. Have not seen it in person yet but when the AD finally calls, I will pull the trigger in a heartbeat.

Why is the RG with all Pink dial $6k more than with a pink and black dial?

Apologies I can't post a screenshot because I'm a new member.

I was debating on a few different PM OF Daytona’s and went with the WG OF.
I felt like it was the most versatile for everyday and when I seen the Grey Sunburst dial in person I was sold.

I considered the 509 with the same dial but until Rolex updates their PM Daytona with ceramic bezels the 519LN will do.

Perfect summer watch
