debris in my watch
I recently purchased a M version of the Stainless steel Submariner, yesterday during the day I looked at the date on my watch and I was stunned to see some light green debris on the datewheel next to the zero in the (30) in the date window. It seems attached to the wheel because I rotated the dates and it was there when I got back to 30 date. My concern is that the debris could break free and damage the movement. I have only had the watch a week that purchased from an AD here in Dallas. What do you recommend regarding this issue? Should the AD replace the watch? I am reluctant to have Rolex crack it open to replace the wheel or remove the debris since its only a week old......

Take it back to the Dealer..
This would be covered under your warranty, but you might be without the watch for a few weeks while they send it back for a clean-up..

I had a Bulova Accutron Diver back in the 80's when I worked construction. Always wore the watch at work(left handed) and from constant hammering it broke free some of the luminous material on the hands. It floated around for a while in there and made its way into the date opening and mucked up the whole thing. I wouldnt delay getting it corrected.

Man that sucks I notice my date wheel was scratched on my 1675 not sure if it was from the service I had done or the other 44 years worth of life.
Take yours back they should be more than willing to clean her up for you. Good luck let us know what happens. |

Take it back to the dealer and they'll sort it for you.Its what the 2 year guarantee is for so might as well use it.

Send it back or you will be constantly bothered by it - I would be bothered if it were mine. The turnaround time on Rolex warranty work (including shipping) is approximately 3 weeks.
Do you have any photos? Sean

Would the AD replace it? £3500 paid is an awful lot of money to be without a watch for three weeks (through no fault of your owm).

The rolex service center is here in dallas, do you think the rolex rep would move it up the list for service. I remember I had one serviced there that came back with a thumbprint on the inside of the crystal, I saw it before I left the rolex location, the girl at the service desk looked stunned when I handed it back to her. is this an isolated case? I have had three subs and only minor issues, but finding the flake attached bent me outta shape....perfection?

Was going to post the same thing, noticed in direct sunlight two white specs under the glass on my GMT IIc, am going to take it to the AD to get sent back.
Pretty bad for an expensive watch!
