Just curious what type of safe you keep your watches in. Mine is a small, cheap one, and I'm looking to upgrade. The only things I have to store in there are my Rolexes, my pen collection, a handgun and documents. Pictures if you got them please, and your thoughts...

Check out the liberty home safes. I believe one of these would be large enough to serve your needs. Gun stores usually have different models of this brand.

I too have a liberty gun safe that holds at least 12 guns and all my other goodies. Fire proof as well.

I'm with you...I just received about 20 firearms from my father who is in giveaway mode since being given a bad bill of health recently. I need a large gun safe pronto and would like to put my watches in there as well.

Check Costco or Sam's club. They've got good deals on pretty nice safes. Good luck. BTW, do you still like that GMT?

A safe needs to do more than just hold stuff.
'
It should have a burglary rating and a decent fire rating. You are just as likely to lose your valuables in a fire as having them stolen...

That's what I'm looking for Larry, something that's fireproof/waterproof, AND burglar-resistant I guess, as I'm not sure anything is burglar-proof.

I agree on that if you were at gun point, quality safe won't do any good.

May be put it in the FIRE-PROOF pouch before hiding in the shoes box

That is quite an extensive pen collection. I nearly purchased my first "nice" pen this past Christmas. My girlfriend bought me a Waterford pen for graduation. I like it, but it's certainly not hanging out in that club!

Hey Larry, do those bolt down from the inside or is the shear weight the deterrent? I remember a member on here saying the glued on down.

A safe should always be bolted down. I've moved enough safes to know what a pain, but how easily they can be moved, a few golf balls and/or pipes and you can move them around a lot easier than you imagine.

Mine weighs 800 pounds, but it is also bolted into the concrete floor from the inside....

The front door plate is 7/8" thick, Hardened steel plates and ball bearing "bit breakers" around the dial, 14 - 1" hardened steel bolts that extend into the frame when locked, UL Listed, 90 minute 1200 degree fire rated (max internal temp rise to 275 degrees).

I got a Winchester safe from Sams. Weighs ~760 lbs. Holds 14 guns, 7 watches and a bunch of other stuff. Cot $499 as I recall.
