(Incoming) My very first Credor
Incoming from Japan. My very first Credor and it was just intense love at first sight with this piece. Its deep and inky Urushi lacquered dial is furnished with Raden indices at 3,9 and 12 o’clock, and hand-painted platinum-powdered Maki-e for the rest.
Raden is a traditional Japanese decorative technique where delicate inlay materials are placed by hand on a surface, before getting polished with several layers of lacquer. For this particular watch, mother-of-pearl shells (I’m guessing abalone shells) from the seas of Japan were procured for the Raden dial. The way they iridescently sparkle and vary in hues under the light is just so nice to stare at. And the size alone is endearing to me; 37mm wide with an ultra slim height of 6.5mm! |

Congrats that is amazing. I would love to see that in person or a video. Pictures do not do it justice.

Congrats! I too was deeply impressed with it when I tried it on at Wako. The raden is stunning - I hope Seiko uses traditional craft techniques (urushi, maki-e, chinkin etc) on more models in the future.
Enjoy it in good health! |

Wow!! That dial looks fantastic - Congratulations!
I fear I’d missed knowing the time when checking my wrist, as I’d admire the dial instead :) |
