Who here has bought a prestige car but...

Didn’t want to pay extra for a metallic or premium paint color and settled with flat rental white or flat black?

prestige is relative... but my preference is for NOT having a meta flake or color shifting undercoat.

I prefer pure or flat colors... for the most part

Where are you drawing the line on prestige here ?

Can we at least first agree a prestigious ranking of car marques first.

Is this the prestige of the car itself, or that which it bestows upon those carried within it ?

Sooo, the 100% honest answer is "not me," but...

I would have bought any CPO Audi S5 Convertible I found with under 10K miles on it as long as it wasn't "Mary Kay pink," plain white included. Mind you, how many such cars are produced without "pearlescent umptyfratz zoom-coat" these days?

Your car goes faster in white. That color of paint weighs less.

Defo only jack white cars if you’re trying to outrun polices.

If I have to explain what a prestige car is on a Rolex forum we’re all tools.

Who here has bought a prestige car but...

Could never do black but would option plain old white no problem. Did so on my first “premium” car a 2007 x5 4.8i. Great car!

Don’t get me wrong black looks tits but you have to want to do the work and I’m lazy as they come.

Current car is a metallic white but it’s pretty subtle, basically softer white. Not like the Lexus/Cadillac pearl white or anything.

I almost exclusively go a variation of silver or white unless there is a really cool color that calls me.

Prestige cars don't have regular boring colors.

Mine aren't white, they are Polar White and Palladium Silver

It looks great, but I remember when these ran the highways and byways by the droves, well, not exactly, but you know what I mean.

I hear 'ya but look at it this way, do you think in 65 years your Honda will have even a remote possibility of being in the same league as a 'Tri-Five' ?? Not a chance !!!!

Well, I didn't make my post to compare the relative merits of Chevrolet and Honda, or the longevity or appeal of either.

My point was that having been born in 1949, I remember when Chevrolet automobiles from the 1950s were everywhere.

Then I qualified that, because in those days, you wouldn't see many as finely outfitted as yours.

Sorry that you were offended.

No, No, I get that, sorry, didn't mean to come across that way, besides my '55 was nothing but a 'Plain Jane' back in it's day. The point is certain cars in certain time periods will always be classic. There is a night and day difference between a '54 and a '55 Chevy. Truth be told of the 'Tri-Fives' the '56 is considered the step child.

Completely agree. All of our cars are black. It is in my opinion the best color for cars.

That being said we had to buy a monthly membership at the car wash. Easily pays for itself with black cars.

Nice Belair by the way.

Very Cool. I had a 1938 business coupe that originally had a single drivers seat, the rest was storage space. My dad and I made it into a Street Rod, 327cid, Turbo 350, 12 bolt 3.73 Posi car.
