Thoughts on purchasing DD36 - New or second hand
As much as I adore my Rolex sports models (Currently wearing 16570 polar!) I've been saving for the last couple years for a new acquisition, and although I've tried many times to get out of the Rolex bubble, I can't, I enjoy wearing them too much.
I've been set on the DD36 (standard gold baguette dial) for the last couple years and am ready to finally make the purchase, should I purchase new or on the second hand market? I know a few second hand dealers who have told me they reject quite a few DD's as a lot of them get shredded up pretty badly, hence them sometimes commanding crazy premiums when they do get them in (safe queens?) Would love to get some input here from everyone. I am in no rush, so happy to wait for the right one to come up, but also like the idea of acquiring one brand new, and I mean if I'm going to pay a premium anyway, why not just go straight to the AD? Hope everyone out there is staying safe and keeping well! Cheers Nick |

A DD is a lifetime watch.
Just stump up the cash for a new one. Then you will be 100% happy with it and you can build memories with it from there. |
