how safe is selling on chrono24 as a person, no company?

How safe is it to sell your watch on chrono24 if you do not have a watch trading company? Anyone experiences? I am thinking about selling my submariner 114060 there however i have heard some horror stories in the past like: Receivers that claim they received a empty box, wrong watch etc etc.. How to avoid all those things without crazy actions as walking around with a go pro on my head? Anyone some tips, experiences?

I think your question gives you your answer?

I can be done on chrono with diligence but in most cases you are relying on the ethics of strangers.

Are there other safer sales platforms?

I am unsure.. It states that it is like ''safe'' however, i can see many opportunities for potential scammers.. But i am unsure, maybe they have some safe system thought out..? Anyone experiences with it???

I’ve always thought what happens if one party says they received a bag of sugar instead of the €20k watch, how will C24 discredit one and side with the other?

Their escrow service is only for funds and not the watch.

I would sell to a trusted seller here. I would think you would get about the same money and with a no hassle safe transaction.

As with any stranger selling/buying site, and even with the escrow things, it still depends on if both parties are honest.

I've bought 5 watches on chrono with no issues. 2-3 individuals, and a couple were companies in London and Portugal.

So it works but it's still a crapshoot.

Oke clear, so it is like i thought.. One of the two parties has to be not ''ok'' and you can have a heck of a problem.. I will sell it to a grey one))

I have sold and bought from C24, no problem, using escrow secure should give you peace of mind.

But as with all the sites probably there can be frauds also.

I tried selling a Rolex 6084 on Chrono 24 and all I received were low ball offers from Europe and the middle east. I got tired of the hassle and pulled the ad after about a year.

I was confident in the process and every time I had to call customer service, they were always very helpful and nice. Just my .02
