Who set the world on fire?

Two points to the title of this thread, the first, is my favorite Reggae band is called: “Stick Figure” and one of my favorite songs is called: “Who set the world on fire.” If you are a Reggae fan at all, highly recommend checking them out. My favorite song is called: “Fire on the horizon”

The second point, is I live very near the beach in La Jolla (North San Diego) California. I’m blessed with mild temperatures year round, never too cold in the winter and never too hot in the summer. EXCEPT -

WTH!?!?! Did I finally make the journey and am actually in Hell right now?

Paul, I thank you for taking the heat of us in the Deep South. I sat outside drinking coffee in 62 degree weather. Very nice. Army thanks Navy.

Jeepers, a whole entire day of over 100 degree temps?
However do you San Diegans endure?

I think we are in for a hot summer in SA based on the forecasts Paul.

7th Sept 2020 in Adelaide. Winds of up to 110 kph will see temperatures rise from a low of 17 up to 31C today — which would mark the city's hottest September day ever recorded.

I recorded this outside temperature on the 7th of December last year.

Its not looking good.

This is what we're looking at for the week in Albuquerque. Denver should be snowed under by Wednesday. I'm glad I'm not there.

Santa Rosa CA, wine country in Sonoma County yesterday.

But we labored on and watched movies.

18,000 people in Sonoma County then lost power because the power companies were worried about generators and power lines overheating and starting more fires.

DUDE, STICK FIGURE IS MY FAVORITE BAND/MUSICIAN!!!

Rare to find someone else who even knows who they are. Got lucky enough to see him in Long Beach at Cali Raggae Fest in Feb.

Found out that one of my co-workers who lives near Boston, MA is friends with Scott and his family, and used to host his band for practices and small shows for friends/family on his property (co-worker has a large plot of land). I was wearing a Stick Figure hoodie during one of our sales meetings last year and he was like "oh, you know who Stick is?" and I was like "Stick? Oh you mean Stick Figure, yea I love them" then we got to talking. Apparently Scott and family are super nice.

Edit - Had to snap this for ya:

Kevin, they are so cool, have been my favorite since I discovered them about a year ago. Prior, I was a big fan of old Reggae, like Johnny Ozbourne (are we grooving you?) and Peter Tosh (Johnny B good), but ever since I heard these guys it’s been all Stick. Fire on the Horizon is my favorite, along with who set the world on fire, and the sound of the sea, a bunch more. I want to meet his dog!

If you like Stick Figure, check out: Rebelution, Iration, and Iya Terra. Similar vibes as Stick since they are Cali Reggae too (and they dont have the fake white guy trying to sound like Jamaican guy sound haha). Cocoa is super cool! He just chills on stage during the whole set. When I saw him a few years ago at the Five Point theatre here in Irvine, people were throwing dog toys on stage for him.

I will have to check out Johnny Ozbourne and Peter Tosh. 95% of my raggae library is cali raggae so these look like a nice change up!

When the world is back together we will have to find an event where they are playing and meet up!

Hit 120 at my house and the official record a little ways down the road was 121.

https://mobile.twitter.com/NWSLosAng...7Ctwgr%5Etweet

The smoke and ash have made it much worse, though.

The sun went away at about 2:00 in the afternoon and it started to get dark at 4:00 at my place. This is sunset as the sun came out from under the smoke at my place above Sacramento.

Does look like Hell ....

Went out for a Jacuzzi at 8 AM this morning, an hour and some after sunrise (6:48) and had to turn on the outdoor lights.

All we need now is some morons celebrating their nuptials with a fireworks display.

Sadly all this happened just as we were all setting out to rake the leaves in our 30 millions acres of forests.
