Any Vin Scully fans out there?

He's putting a great deal of his personal memorabilia collection up for auction.
Some of the stuff is quite unique and very cool.

I have no connection to any of this, just a lifelong admirer of Mr. Scully.

Ah, but Mr. Scully was on the radio call that night and to most of Southern California, his version is THE CALL. Dodger fans listened to Mr. Scully's radio call...even in a seat at the stadium.

Now, for some real fun Vin Scilly, have a listen to him call the Masters back in the late 70's and early 80's. What a legend!

Great thing about Mr. Scully, when he was working on TV and there was a dramatic moment like that (and he worked a lot of them), he would make his call, then be quiet. He understood we all could see what was happening and that further commentary right then would only detract from the moment.

Wow. That's quite the collection of memorabilia! Would love a Ruth/Gehrig signed baseball.

Best baseball voice ever. And it's not even close.

For my money, another Dodger was the next best baseball voice, too...

Don Drysdale. I heard he could throw the ball a little, too.

SoCal has been spoiled!

Don’t forget the late great Chick Hearn for SoCal.

No better than Vin and Chick.

Been a Vin fan since I was a kid in the late 60’s and I’m a Yankee fan. Class act and the man was the best in the booth. They just did a great segment of him on CBS Sunday Morning the other day. If you didn’t catch try to watch it somewhere.

Huge fan of Vin Scully, grew up listening to him call Dodger games.

I soured on baseball about 30 years ago, just got bored watching unless it was the Playoffs or World Series, then I would watch a bit.

A friend took me to hear Vin speak a few years ago for my birthday. He told some great stories and then took questions from the audience (pre-screened).

Near the end, he did make a political statement that I disagree with (plus it wasn't a forum for that, he should have been talking sports and himself), so that tarnished him a bit in my book as a person, but not as an announcer.
