I myself would be inclined to "wear the bloody thing" as intended.

According to link, the auction was held in May 2008 and the watch was sold for 289,00 Swiss Francs. What a beaut!

Interesting that Christies don't even know when jet transatlantic flights started. Early October 1958, BOAC Comet, 26 October PANAMs first 707 [via Gander]. Therefore the GMT was invented in 1954 [design talks in 1953?] to cure a problem that didn't exist until 5 years later! Or has everyone been persuaded that the PANAM were THAT caring and farseeing for their treasured pilots. With firsthand knowledge of airline management I am more than a little sceptical. Doesn't affect the desirability of the watch, but I am amazed that in a forum as knowledgeable as this, that this jetlag myth is constantly repeated.

Beautiful Watch

I love the Gold GMT but I don't like the dial. I would prefer white had I the money to purchase this. Now I'm not saying that I'd change the dial were I the lucky ( and poor now) owner. I'm just stating a preference

I would have to wear it, now and then, though somebody had a lot of financial good sense to just store this one. Maybe I should buy two of whatever from now on- one to wear, one to store.
