With the new release of the steel OP with yellow gold indexes and hands I'm no longer doubting that this wood dial would look good in a steel DateJust.

So, the hunt for a mint, unpolished 16200 on jubilee continues

That white dot on the ROLEX "E" is giving me anxiety. Please tell me that's removable.

Just some small specs of dust inside the seal, it was there on other pics but on a different place.

Very cool dials. Pardon my ignorance but on the Arabic (I assume) dial, how do you know how to set the dial correctly? Is there a marking on the other side showing 12 O’clock? Thanks

I agree, when I first got into Rolex in the late 80s dial options on DJ and DD were HUGE!!

The date wheel can only be put in place in one way, the hard part is reading the date I'd need to look the numbers up, and I'll probably get used to it after a while.

I thought Arabic numerals were the universal ones (ya know, 1-2-3 etc)

That is Western (modern) Arabic. The ones on the date wheel are Eastern Arabic, which is very close to Persian.

I know it's all cognitive bias, but to me for some reason Arabic numerals look wrong, especially on dials with writing in Latin alphabet. If it's a DD and the date is in Arabic as well, then it looks balanced, but just the date looks off balance. But that's just me. Ironically DD would become useless to me if it had an Arabic day, because I can't read Arabic, whereas I got the hang of the numerals.

You would have to learn Arabic days of the week. Like people have to with Seiko with Japanese 'Kanji' day wheel. I'm happy to learn if the right DD comes up that doesn't happen to speak English.

Right, I mean as of now it would be useless to me. Would I be able to learn 7 words relatively quickly? Yes. But as of now, I couldn't tell you whether it's set to Monday or Saturday. Whereas if it's just the date, I could easily tell you what date it is.
