London reccomendations for polishing?
Hi All-
I recently purchased a pre-owned GMT which has some very light surface scratches to the bracelet and side of the case. Can anyone recommend some centrally located places for light polishing? Is this something RSC in St. James could do, without a full service? Preferably Mayfair location. Many thanks! |

These guys are fairly active and their work looks impressive, but haven’t used personally;

No. This guy did an awful job on my 14060m five years ago and I haven’t forgotten, do not recommend.

As you weigh your options for polishing the GMT, is there an opportunity to hold off until it’s normal service timeframe?
As you purchased pre-owned, is it possible that you’re within a year of an overhaul? If so, then RSC full service gets you what you want on the outside of the watch while the heart inside gets a full physical too. Just my 2¢... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I would not polish the watch to just return to wearing it and putting more scratches and abrasions on it. As others have said wait until service.

I can only posts from my own experience and say that when I took my sub they held it for 2 months without doing anything, after I repeatedly called them they eventually got round to doing the supposed service, when I picked up the watch the bezel was not put on straight there was fingerprints under the glass, and dust on the dial, I had to stand over them while they tried to correct this which took them at least two attempts, the polishing on the watch was completely bodged, on the side of the case there was very noticeable buffing marks that never got removed, in the end I just gave up and I just wanted to take the watch as far away from this person as possible.
