My First Rolex - MOP Dial Thoughts?

Hey everyone,

Just picked up this bad boy(36mm), manufactured in 1998 in a eBay auction, had certificate of authenticity, and had it inspected by a jeweler. Also, recently just got it cleaned and polished (peep the before and after).

I intended to purchase a Rolex Brand New for my birthday but the wait was too long. ended up running into a very good deal for this so I just hopped on it. Still plan on buying brand new within the next couple months.

What do you guys think of this configuration? Is it too feminine? I was a little worried at first but it’s actually growing on me.

Thanks! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Congrats!

My first Rolex (2007) is the same one without the diamonds. I love the MOP as well as the Roman numerals on the dial. I now also have two Submariners (one G/SS and one SG) but I still love to wear the DJ for classy outings...I think it's the Jubilee bracelet.

I think it looks great. You’re probably gonna get a lot of comments on the aftermarket bezel, which I’m not a huge fan of. But I do like diamonds and the dial is beautiful.

Yes sir, but to each his own right?! Lol

I got the watch for $5k, the jeweler said it was a good deal. I was even considering looking for the original bezel to replace the diamonds to go fully original, but the diamonds do look great with the dial.

Wow, only $5k, that is very good price, I would buy it too.

I love diamonds but preferred original from Rolex, but this watch sure looks great, I love the look too.

I have Datejust 41 with MOP and diamonds dial also but not at the bezel and I love mine very much.

Love the fact that all MOPs are unique in that none are the same

I spent a couple months trying to find a MOP date just for my wife. Many of the dials are "custom" which is another way of saying "counterfeit". I hope yours' is real.

Lovely dial. Slightly feminine but still masculine as well. Nothing wrong with custom watches in my book as long as you got it for a good price.
