Pulled the trigger on a SLA037...

It is ridiculously priced but I just couldn't resist. Please help me rationalize this decision!

Awesome pic. Now I am getting excited, just waiting on the text from FedEx.

Not sure if you bought it after seeing it in person, but if you're seeing it for the first time in person once FedEx delivers.... the watch will blow your mind.

Thanks! I’m excited for you.

I really needed another round diver like a hole in the head, or even a blue-grey Seiko diver, particularly in light of the fact I already owned the SLA039 (which I love) and the SPB149 when I bought it.

The dial and overall finishing is stunning to me, and it’s super comfortable on the OEM tropic. I had thought about making it a catch-and-release, but it’s probably my most-worn watch since I snagged it in the fall.

I hope you enjoy it just as much!

Great acquisition! I say that it's worth the money. It's beautiful, the new ever-brilliant steel shines, and the movement is a variant of the Grand Seiko hi-beat.

I had been eye'ing GS divers, but the SLA037's design and size just suits me better as well.

Hopefully it will be here tomorrow, I'll set out some cookies for the FedEx guy. Really looking forward to breaking it in, tired of taking off my watch to do stuff:)

No need to rationalise the purchase of the 037 , it justifies itself in one word . Stunning

Congrats, it’s a great looking watch. Out of interest, does the lume pip align properly at 12? I read somewhere that it doesn’t, which I thought was weird.

Great choice. I had a SLA017 that I sold and it’s one of the few regrets I have selling watches. This scratches that itch and I’m very pleased. My only gripe is the overly long OEM strap. I’ve bought a few straps on my own to figure out which one works best for me

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but I'm thinking about adding this watch to my collection and was wondering what your thoughts are on it after a couple of years of ownership?

Many thanks,

Z.

SLA017 doesn't have the Hi-Beat movement, so I guess there's that as well...
