Advice on clasps

Can any one offer some advice on clasps fitted to the 18k WG daytona model 116509 .

If i bought a z serial number is the clasp the same as the new GMT style or the older style of daytona clasp style 78490 just manufactured in WG

Thanks

I'd say the 78490. The only WG's I've seen have had the older style clasp, I would assume you'd need the latest V to see a new style clasp (that's assuming they updated the WG one as well as the SS)

I think the Daytona clasps are very different to the GMT clasps.

Mine is a 116250 so I cannot comment on your Daytona. But I do think Daytona uses a very different clasp.

I think that since the WG Daytona is not a big mover, you will still find both style of clasps on them... You would have to check to ensure it has the clasp you want..

I personally like the old clasp.......... it has loads more style and class...

Scoobs, the "supercase" GMT's will only ever have had the new clasp. Only more recently Daytona's changed to the new style clasp, which is basically the same as the GMT clasp.

As Larry says though, due to popularity it may well take longer to see them start filtering through on WG Daytona's.

My YG V serial number came with later clasp. Not sure when switchover took place.
