Traded My Rolex Yacht Master ref 16622 for A DateJust 41

Hey Guys, So I will keep it short. I traded my YachtMaster Platinum Dial ref #16622 for a new Datejust 41 Blue Dial with Roman Numerals. It was almost and even trade at my local AD. I do own a Black GMT and a Sub 41 No-Date. Plus I do own other other brand sports model. I had nothing similar to the Datejust 41 in my collection which is something I wanted. I love the new DateJust and for me and my collection it made sense. The YachtMaster was purchased pre-owned from my Local Rolex AD a few years ago with no box and papers. I am curious on your opinions

Thanks

I'm glad that works for you, congratulations.
If I must be honest, I would not have traded the YM for the DJ, but that's just mE.

Thanks GST15. I would normally agree and would have thought the same. Which is why am curious on people thoughts. I noticed my collection was filling up with sports model and nothing a little more dressy. So thought this one hit the spot with still staying on a casual side.

I like the trade, i dislike a bunch of black dial, rotating bezel watches, it gives you some variety at least. I would have gone outside rolex, but baby steps :)

Thanks and I agree I need to step outside Rolex for my next high end piece. In my collection those 3 Rolex are my top ones followed by a Tudor Black bay GMT (Pepsi), Then its down hill from there to my casual everyday beaters, Tag , Casio, Luminox.

If you're happy, isn't that all that matters? You *are* happy right? I prefer, and always will prefer, the fluted bezel and Jubilee combo but that's only me. In any configuration, the Datejust 41 is a great watch. Don't let anyone tell you different!

Thanks

Yes am extremely happy and have no regrets. I agree the DJ 41 is a great watch and its why i was curious to see what people thought about trading an older sport model for it.

I think you did great! That blue is stunning and adds a splash of color to your collection. How do you feel about the smooth bezel of the 41? Would you consider switching it out for a fluted one? It would give it that extra twinkle

My YM says: “No! How could you let her go for a vulgar run off the mill non bezel rotating DJ?" She's understandably very upset, you'll have to excuse her. Name: YM_116622_pt.jpg

Nice Rolex trio. It's not blue it's Azzurro Blue, a beautiful color.

Just my opinion but YM was the only "different" watch out of the original three you had. So trading it and keeping the two sporty black bezel/dial Rolex will not be my move. But again I guess you wanted to keep the classic Rolex watches.

That is my favorite DJ reference. The azzuro blue is beautiful, but I wouldn’t have given the 16622 for it.

If it works for you, it works.

I wouldn't kick a YM out but then again, I don't own one.

Your watches, your choice.

It's a fine trade if we don't consider financials. Would have been better if you just added the DJ, obviously. What's your next watch? :)

My next watch happened to be a Casio F91w1 that am waiting for Amazon to delivery. Needed a cheap watch to beat up while fishing and doing home projects, LOL But that is a good question haven't put much thoughts on my next luxury piece yet. Still enjoying the new DJ. But If i had to chose one right now I might say a Cartier Santos or a Rolex Explorer ii with the white dial and if am truly dreaming White Dial Daytona.

Thats a nice collection, well balanced IMHO, congratulations, no issues on doing the trade if it was what you wanted to do.

I have two of the 3 just waiting for a BLRO to complete my collection.
