Vacheron Contantin- Undervalued

If i may ask, why are Vacheron Constantin watches being so much undervalued or not as popular as Audemar Piguet and Patek Phillipe watches when I've heard from a lot of watch people that they are just as good and from a few watch people, even a bit better, especiallly for the price?
Thanks.

The blue dial Overseas is also benefitting from the same hype but to a lesser degree. The white and black dial Overseas can still be bought at a discount to retail and is a great bargain. However, reality is most ppl buy watches to impress others so the entire hype trend creates either a virtuous cycle (ie RO and Nautilus) or vicious cycle (ie Overseas)

If you can get past the hype the Overseas is good value. Personally, I don’t like them because they wear large like the RO and VC doesn’t offer any Overseas below 41mm. They also don’t have hacking seconds which bothers me and I personally much prefer the RO bracelet, dial, and finishing vs Overseas.

Too large for me. They should do a 39mm overseas and more people will bite. The open worked PC is drop dead gorgeous though.

They should bring back the white gold ultra thin at 40mm... preferably in SS. that is a real stunner.

One can hope that they discontinued it to make room to bring back the 222.

Agreed. And as much as I like the blue dial (and I've tried it on inperson, it's stunning) I'd prefer black. 39mm would be perfect.

I agree, a 3 handed piece at no more than 40mm would be great.

I do like VC and my AD was a dealer at one time but had to choose between VC and PP and we know where that went. Without access to the watches and limited in person pre-owned opportunities I am just not going to go down that road.

I've tried on the VC overseas and I have smaller size wrists. I would say that the VC wears broad but not quite as big as a comparable RO 15500/15400. I think with the strap changing it adds even more versatility and that blue is gorgeous! I would absolutely pull the trigger on one in the future if opportunity arises!

Overseas is quiet large at 41M I personally prefer the RO as you can also buy the 15450.

If VC offered a 38/39 I would seriously consider it. The quick strap change system is great plus ADs would through in rubber and leather straps.

I am huge fan of the patrimony.

VC offers a 37mm Overeas which is quite nice. https://www.vacheron-constantin.com/...100a-b170.html

I think the OVERSEAS is a great watch and its a great value!!! I really like more the previous generation 49150 than the current one, for some reason I just prefer the dial.

The overseas are amazing watches and great value. They are starting to go up in value on the secondary market and may be as hot as ap in the future. Get one while u can

I have sold this barely worn, full set 18 months ago for less than $15k.

Same movement like Patek, Guilloche dial - if it had Patek on the dial....

Yes, many VC are massively undervalued

I picked up this model about a 6 months ago, such a beautiful watch with a great movement

I think that the complication, detail, and access makes VC a winner
If your not a trader and use your watches for a lifetime, VC is a clear winner!
Just look at the heritage and the value in the offerings.
just my two cents

It is a question of proportion: size and thickness.
I hope they will reissue a 222 one day.
Not really similar to an Overseas.

VC is very well known and respected to watch enthusiasts and doesn’t get the hype it deserves. Not necessarily a bad thing for watch enthusiasts :) Nobody wants to wait years and years for a sports watch, glad the Overseas is available for folks who want it.

I honestly think the new OS wears smaller than 41mm suggests. And it’s fairly thin and light. I know blue is the obvious choice but the silver is very understated and really nice looking in person.

How comfortable is the bracelet?

Extremely. And it has 2 completely hidden 2mm micro extensions built into the links near the clasp. Can use one or both.

OMG that dial is stunning, just brilliant.

Thanks for posting these pictures you have sold me on what dial colour to get and it isn't the blue or the black.

Fantastic watch with that wonderful silver sunburst dial, congratulations.

Nah. The blue for this particular reference is a horrible looking blue especially compared to the blues from Patek, AP and Rolex. Silver for this reference is perfect. I’ve owned both and I got rid of the blue. Now as far as size goes it’s too freaking big. Just like the 15500. This reference would be much better off in 39mm. Or why not offer both sizes? Also I cannot believe this reference doesn’t hack. I realize that’s not important to some of the non WIS people but to me it’s very important. Still though I enjoy mine even though it looks big on my wrist. The strap change is brilliant and the bracelet is the best looking in its class in my opinion.

Absolutely love it. One can criticize and still love something.
