Need some help on a ladies vintage Rolex

I am trying to help a good friend replace a old Vintage Rolex watch that was stolen years back. I am really out of my comfort zone as I know nothing about these models. I have found 2 watches that have the correct mesh band. One is a 1401 (dial is on left of 1st photo) movement and the other (i think) is a 1400? Unsure of years of these two.

Any thoughts or advise will be greatly appreciated.

That is a ladies cocktail watch, most likely from the 40s or the 50s. Most didnt have model numbers on them like the Oyster cased watches do. The 1400 and 1401 are the movement numbers and not the model number of the watch. The only thing you can do most of the time is to search for something similar. Trying to find an exact match for a watch that is so old and uncommon will be a hard task as very few exist anymore. Most were melted down for gold scrap when the cocktail watch fad died down.

Here you go, this looks more like your first picture.

Thank you for the reply. Does the crown that is on dial on the left image look ok? Seems odd to me.

Yeah, looks just like the one in the link I posted. Much more flat than the one in your right picture which could be from a later generation. The flatter style is more common in the early 1950s.

The one on eBay is a bit overpriced IMO but its the only one and if you want it bad enough then you may be able to negotiate a better price.
