Unbelievable Incoming/got the call!

After an agonizing few days, finally picked up one of my dream watches. I’m speechless and can’t believe that it’s actually on my wrist. I technically got put on “the list” 18 months ago, but the SA I was working with left the store. I had failed to follow up during this time.

About a 6 weeks ago I reached out and spoke with a new SA who was a friend of my old SA. I brought up that I had been waiting but failed to follow up due to a hectic 2020. I was invited in, made an introduction, and connected with the SA. I only stopped in one more time to introduce my fiancé around two weeks later.

With the new announcement on the 7th, I texted and asked if they’d be getting more watches due to it being available on both bracelets. I received a response back stating they didn’t think so - but it didn’t matter because they had a surprise for me and asked me to call when I got a chance. Scheduled pickup for today. No games, no bundling requests, just a straight smooth transaction with amazing people. I know my case isn’t normal, but keep inquiring and making an effort.

This is not a rant but personally I can't see waiting 3 years for anything, unless you have to, and this is not one of those times since you could have very easily gone grey and had that watch right then and there. Sure there is a premium but I wonder how much the official MSRP went up during those 3 years plus losing the 3 years of enjoyment of having a Rolex, and what's that worth to someone.

Congrats on the piece! Out of curiosity, did you buy anything in the last 18 months? Or just been waiting?

It's my fiancé's car - don't tell anyone.
