Thoughts? OP36 vs Tudor chrono panda
Say figuratively if someone wanted to trade a blue 3/6/9 dial OP36 for my Tudor Chrono Panda. Yay or nay and why?
Appreciate the insight as always My panda / wrist Random OP shot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would stick with the Tudor on this one. I think the panda dial works on your wrist/tattoos. Plus you’ve got two solid Rolex’s in the Sub and GMT so I don’t think this should come down to a Rolex is better than Tudor debate.

The sub had to go last year March 2020 when covid hit :( (I sold it and dumped the $ into the market) so this is the current state of collection Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hopefully you get a Sub back in the collection in the future! I’d still stick to the Tudor on this one as I’m not a big fan of that OP configuration. I’d personally go for the new OP36’s in a dial of your preference if you can pick one up from your AD.

Given the current state of your collection, keep chrono.

For my personal tastes I don’t care for the 3-6-9, these new tudors are sweet!
Unrelated to trade values or tastes... does the date wheel font match the subdial font on the Tudor? Subdial font to my eyes have a vintage motif like an older Newman era Daytona, wondered if they matched that with the date wheel. The photo you show has the date at 7 so it’s hard to tell I’d keep the Tudor it looks great on you and I prefer the white dial over the black. I bet you’ll mostly hear things like if you truly prefer the OP then make the deal, it’s all about what you’d rather wear and I have to agree with that sentiment as well God bless brother ! |

I know I’m in the minority here but I’d go for the 3 6 9 Blue OP. I’ve always liked that model and it’s got the bracelet size and lug width that the new Explorer should have gone with. Also, that model is the one with the fully lumed dial.

I’ve always liked the 36mm OP (how old is the one in question?) and never been a big chrono guy. If it was my OP I’d keep it. Since it’s your chronograph my opinion matters less.

If that was my collection, I would be putting more effort into replacing the sub you sold.

I prefer the Tudor Chrono on this possible trade. No issues with the OP but it is bit boring to me. Having moved the Submariner why not look at adding a BB58 in blue and you can have the best of both worlds, color and size and diving. Sit tight is my advice, the Tudor Chrono really works on your wrist and the tattoos add to the look.

OP36 Blue Explorer dial is a great watch. I don't find that it fits really small on my 7 3/4" wrist. Good classic size for a semi-dress watch. I also have the BB 58 blue dial. It is a great size for a sport / diver. To me it only seems small after wearing a Tudor GMT or Pelagos for a while.

I like the OP. But only because it's got the 3, 6, 9.
Plus I'm not much of a chrono fan.

The Tudor looks great with the Tats. If you feel the BB58 is too small then why would you want a 36mm?

In the context of your collection (in terms of color scheme, design, function variety etc.) and accounting for your wrist size, the Tudor chrono is probably the better pick for you as an individual. Sounds like you're settling into the diver/GMT/chrono combo, and this fits that bill, plus gives you a splash of white, nice variety.
But as a generalization, and in my own personal taste, I would take the OP36 over the Tudor chrono, no question. I find the OP more comfortable, much better bracelet and clasp, better dial legibility, more elegant case design, greater versatility with both sporty and dressy stylings, outstanding dial... Then again, I have a small wrist and the bulk of the Tudor is a bit much. If it were just a little smaller, thinner, and better clasp, I'd probably pick one up. |

Why would you be contemplating seeing the watch just came out and you have only had it for a short time?
