Icon20 Where are the white Sky?

Are the white dial SkyDweller not well liked? I rarely see any incoming or talked about for this piece on TRF! Happy Friday from the east coast USA everyone!

Fantastic.
Crisp and readable. Much nicer than that 40k white stopwatch with the 3 cluttered dials that no one ever uses.

It’s my favourite of the 3 dials in SS.

Personally I think the white is the pick of the bunch as it's quite an under-used dial colour for Rolex.

Sadly, social-media tells everyone that the blue is the one to have, so obviously that's what everyone wants. I personally know of two people who have turned down the white dial SkyDweller in the hope of snaring a blue dial for "resale purposes"

Completely agree. Having seen all three, I chose white because not only is it an under-used dial color for Rolex, but this particular use of it is just stunning. Something about the way it interacts with the subdial, and with the small red touches, just works for me.

Plus, I get my blue-dial needs met in other ways :)

I actually like all three dial options, but as you say, the white dial execution just works so well.

I have the white 326933. Apparently they are popular and hard to get. I only got mine by accident of having been in the right place at just the right time. That was back in October 2019. Only time I will probably get lucky with a hard-to-source watch.

It is definitely not a pure bright white, and yes, could be described as a very light cream white. You can see the contrast with the center ring which is more of a pure white.

Yep white dial is the dog of the range, it usually is with most watches (most).

if by "dog" you mean loyal companion, man's best friend, and creature i'd rather hang with more than i would most people, then yes! a dog indeed.

(sorry, love friggin' dogs. even more than white dialed watches.)

peace!

I've never met a Sky Dweller I didn't love. Just as well they are so comparatively rare.

I prefer the white dial in YG or RG because the WG hands of the SS model don't provide as much contrast against the white dial. Still plenty legible though.

The white dial (of my TT at least) goes through a number of interesting hue and texture transitions depending on the light hitting it.

My thoughts, exactly.

Sadly, I passed on that exact watch last Christmas...already committed to another purchase at the AD. But maybe, someday...

They don't come in often at my AD but if timed right there is little queuing, jostling and elbowing involved, compared to trying to score a SS one. As a model to aspire to (as it was for me), it's a prospect that might actually materialise at MSRP before you die of old age.

I saw a WF video that pushed the TT (they showcased a white one) as the overlooked Rolex investment opportunity that would soon take off. I hope they are wrong. This nonsense is getting all pervasive.

I would love a RG white one. I suspect it may feel too heavy for my thin wrist and I'm not inclined to actively research it for fear of my weak will when it comes to the Sky Dweller. Maybe one day if I consolidate my collection. Right now, I prefer the diversity of owning a wider range of models.

I’ve longed for a white 326933 for a few years now. I came across a black dial so I bought it. It was absolutely amazing with the sunburst. I think the gold fluted bezel was awesome against the black dial. I also think it made the watch more sporty.

That being said, I traded for a white dial and have no regrets. It has a very classy look to it and I love the changing hues. My favorite is on an angle, you get a silver color. Very cool.

Also, I think the white dial “looks” bigger which is good for me. I have no links out of the watch and it fits perfect.

I was fortunate to be able to add a white TT to my black dial SS. The black dial makes the SS Sky Dweller the perfect sleeper watch for me. The 42mm size and the fluted bezel aren't exactly subtle, but it's a watch which could be mistaken for a DJ. It looks classically classy but at a glance or from a medium distance gives very little away as to its breadth of functions. The dial helps the disguise until light hits it at just the right angle and intensity, at which point it bursts into 3D shimmering life. To see it is to properly appreciate it.
