Issue with my Rolex YM 37mm SS
I purchased the YM 37 SS after receiving a call from my AD (on 17 May 2021) telling me that the watch was available as I was registered in the wish list. While I was at the AD, I inspected the physical appearance of the watch and found nothing wrong. After the payment, stickers were removed by the AD, bracelet was resized and time/date were all adjusted by the salesperson who served me. Thus I did not checked the crown and time setting because all was done by him.
My excitement of getting the new watch didn't last long. While I was on my way back home, I tried to fine adjust the minute hand again. So I unscrewed the crown and this was how I found out the issue. The date changed as I unscrewed the crown and this was weird to me because I owned a DJ2 also. I knew there was something wrong. When the crown was unscrewed and popped to the first notch, by turning the crown clockwise I could hear the watch winding sound as usual. However when it was turned in anti-clockwise direction, the date changed. When I pulled the crown to the quick date setting position (2nd notch), the quick date setting had no issue. Then I tried to pull the crown to the last notch where time is set and I found problem again. It was sticky and not smooth. Sometimes I needed to push the crown back to the date setting notch and then only managed to pull it out to the last position. I returned the watch to AD on the day of purchase itself and showed this to the salesperson and he agreed this is problematic. He told me that the watch will be sent to RSC for assessment and rectification. Has anyone experience this on the brand new Rolex watch before? If yes, usually how long does it take for RSC to service a new watch like my case? It's quite frustrating to me because the new watch was just with me for merely 2 hours and then it was returned for service. I am also worried that the new watch will be returned with free scratches after the service. As of today, I am still pending update from my AD about the watch service status. |
