Rolex shutting down for 3 weeks?

AD told me the other day that Rolex is shutting down for 3 weeks to get caught up so they will not be taking any watches in for services or sending out any new shipments for at least 3-4 weeks. Just wanted to share what I heard. maybe BS maybe not. anybody else hear something like this??

The security guard at my AD said he was going to Disney/Epcot and visiting family for three weeks this summer... so sounds plausible.

I had read other posts about this and checked with the Rolex AD I am trying to build a relationship with. He said I still need to to by and mown his lawn and washing his car twice a week. So no change for me.

"Shutting down" sounds like the opposite of catching up, no?

You imagine Rolex only employ 15 people, so they can't possibly do two or more things at once- make watches, ship watches and repair watches ?

This is true. Had to schedule an appointment at the RSC in BH, CA and the woman said the same. They are closing for 3x weeks…

I can confirm this. When I was at the Beverly Hills RSC they told me they’re shutting for 3 weeks for a computer system upgrade. I believe they’re closed now as the woman at the front desk said they would be opening back up around the week of June 14th.

This is correct. Nothing to do with catching up on current watches. They are performing a computer system update that starts either today or tomorrow.

Talked to RSC Dallas yesterday about full service for my Sea Dweller. They confirmed that they are running IT upgrades through June 14 but will still mail me the box to send my watch over and will accept it. I figured by the time the box gets here and then back to them it’s mid June anyway. Estimated turnaround time is currently 10 weeks.

They were supposed to mail me one out Friday a week ago for return warranty work. I spoke with Dallas RSC yesterday since it hadn’t yet arrived and they said the request was placed but could request another one to be mailed as their service Dept was closed. They emailed shipping instructions instead.

I expected a slow return for work. Good to know I should expect 10 weeks plus. Unfortunately it’s the same timing issue that they we’re supposed to fix when I handed it to them last year just before COVID-19 started shutting things down.

Regards,

So you're telling me Rolex is closing business to continue running business?

Follow the left arrow to go right?

I think OP is saying RSC is not going to accept new service submissions for three weeks in order to get caught up on existing watches they need to service.

I don't think this has anything to do with Rolex HQ manufacturing.

To me it actually sounded like they weren't getting anything new in as well. But that doesn't sound right so wanted to find out if anyone else heard anything similar.
