Watch size

Hello! I purchased my first rolex ,31mm two toned with an oyster band and white face. It’s absolutely beautiful, but I keep thinking I should have gotten the 36mm. I have very small wrists. Maybe 4-5 inches lol

Do you think I should sell my rolex and get a 36mm?
And if so, what is the best place to do that?

Thank you for your advice!

Well I must assume when you originally bought your 31mm you was happy, why or what has changed your mind. And as you have like you state very small wrists then the 31mm is fine, afraid bigger is not always better.

Hey there,

Have you tried on the 36mm?

If not, I suggest you try one on in an AD just so you can compare sizes

Not anymore, sadly, if OP is looking to purchase new from AD. The 34mm OP Date is recently discontinued, and the 34mm OP in TT, date or not, is long gone (don't think it existed past the five-digit days).

If your wrist is smaller than 5", I think 31mm should still looks good.

You should keep wearing it for awhile and see how you feel, if you don't like it anymore, you can trade it in later.

My wife is very petite and has small wrists but wears a 42mm Panerai. Wrist size and watch size have little relationship. It’s what feels right for you.

Agreed. Men seem to make such a big deal about it, far more than women. All the consternation about the 36mm explorer has been hilarious.

It's difficult to give a personal opinion without photos but if you were happy with 31 when you bought it, I wouldn't second guess yourself now. If you have an opportunity to try on a 36 in the future, you can see if you like that size.

Wear what you like, not what you read about on Forums.

Big watches on small wrists are trendy in nightclubs, but not so much at other venues.

Welcome to the forum. As others have said, try the 36mm 1st if you haven't already. If you prefer the larger size, check with DavidSW for trades. You can also go to your AD but most won't give a decent value on the trade in.

This ^. If you're comfortable with a watch then that's all that counts.

Welcome to the forum.
With wrists that small i find it hard to imagine anything other than a 31 would be about right for a very nice daily wearer.

In the broadest sense and if one were so inclined
If I were you, I would consider a 36 of some description in a more sporty fashion exclusively in Stainless Steel.
Also a 28 on a Jubilee bracelet as a more dress up type of watch with some Diamonds for some pop and added pizzaz.

Your 31 is a great compromise size with your size wrists
Don't second guess your gut instincts at the time of purchase. I assume you tried a range of watches before pulling the trigger and didn't just make a hasty decision.
Perhaps you could post a pic on the wrist when you can get around to it for our viewing pleasure?
