Thoughts on this three watch Rolex collection - which PM would you add

Firstly, if you came here for some high definition photos you’ve come to the wrong place ha..
Not my Best attribute!

Three of my favourite watches here. Pretty much every base covered here for me to be honest.

I have a lot of others aswell but after having owned or still owning most models, I could live with these three (not that I will ha).

What’s your take on these three as a collection?

And as a side note - which PM would you personally choose to go with these three? Not looking for advice because I own a few just a bit of a fun :) I’m guessing the resounding answer here will be a PM Daytona but that probably wouldn’t be my choice.

PM Daytona OF. You have the fluted bezel covered so barring platinum DD they are out. You have jubilee, oyster, diver and GMT covered too so. Daytona gives you a different bezel, different and different strap option. Great collection btw.

I have this watch and I agree it would be a great fit in this collection. Problem is I love love love yellow gold so I’d probably make it a YG watch.

Looking at that collection, I was thinking to go low key, either an OP41 or a Platinum Day Date with the smooth bezel

Platinum Day Date is “low key?”

It actually is funnily enough tried a couple on yesterday. I’ve always liked the blue dial baguette version but the smooth bezel on it is a no from me - because it makes it so much more of a causal watch - which I can see the appeal of.

First, you have a fantastic collection Jay

When I think PM Rolex, for me … it’s gotta be a Day Date

Thanks Brian. Yeah I do think a YG day date is a good fit here - honestly there’s probably not a wrong answer :)

My opinion is that a TT DJ, a Sky-D and a Day-Date in a 4 watch collection is as one-sided on the fluted bezel/slightly dressier side as most Sub/GMT/Daytona collections are weighted towards sports/professional models.

Day Date in any metal but platinum.
No fluted bezel on platinum models.
Smooth bezels are for Grand Seikos.
Flame suit on.

Probably a 11813x, or 11613x, if still available from AD. Probably YG/white dial or WG/blue dial. Likely would want to pick up multiple straps for either.

I only like PM (for myself) as a dress watch, and prefer dress watches on leather.

Gold sub with blue dial.
You have the DD mostly covered with that DJ.
If you go DD get the white dial for contrast.
YG=real gold.

I agree with your argument the day date kinda covered in the datejust here.

Pm blue sub is a great suggestion and one I do not yet own and have always wanted to.

I think that one is now out of reach for non VVIPs but the RG Daytona is still buyable and the most Patek-like in feel of any Rolex I have owned. Blue Sub is obviously a great piece and so quintessentially Rolex.

For variety I'd go with a GMT Master. My preference would be the WG BLRO.

I can't tell you what you like best, although whatever you chose you won't go wrong, and you'll have a superb Rolex group in your collection.

I’m gonna say 36mm day date on leather. Someone on here picked up NOS.

In order to not make the DJ redundant, the 36mm on leather would make it different and special enough

Agree, my thought was the same. And, while I would prefer the DD for a dress watch (and variety), if looking NOS, I’d be pretty much indifferent between this and the nearly identical DJ. I’d go based on metal/dial/strap combo available vs model. DD probably more available still, as I think DJ PM on leather was discontinued earlier.

And of course this assumes the new addition is also a Rolex...
