Daytona's power reserve is 72 hours based on information from official website. However, more than once, mine can only last 60 hours --- I wore it to work from Mon to Thurs. Took it off on Thurs night at 2200. It should be able to last until Monday morning if its power reserve is 72 hours. However, when I checked it on Sunday afternoon, it has stopped.
Any thoughts?

Buy a GMTII C and never take it off.

Is your Daytona a 116520 or the older Zenith 16520? older Zenith has about 56hr reserve.
Also, what serial is it?

Maybe your wrist action is enough to keep it wound sufficiently to keep good time but not to fully wind it.......try manual winding it the 40 or so turns most folk advocate to gain the full power reserve for sure....then lay it down keep an eye on it over the next 72 hours....if it stops again after a full manual wind I would get it checked......JMHO

If I understand the concept of power reserve correctly (which I may not), based on the data you have supplied, wouldn't a 72 hour reserve only take you up to Sunday night at 10:00 PM, NOT Monday morning?

If so, your watch may not be as far off as you originally believed.

72 hours = 3 days at 24 hours....good spot...of course that would mean around 2200 Sunday evening......

Also, were you running the chrono function which can deplete the power reserve faster

Mine is M-series. Worn it since Jan 09.
I didn't activate the chrono function.

Hi Albert,

This has been said already but if you just took it off without winding it fully I doubt that the auto winding mechanism would have it at 100% power reserve. This is easy to check - wind it fully and do it again and remember, 72 hours is pretty close to 3 days.

Get back to me on Wednesday.

Absolutely........

You have no way to know on our experience if the watch was fully wound or not.........

Albert, you should just enjoy the Watch.

The power reserve is not a criterion at all. If the watch is used every day, taken off in the nights and put back on in the mornings, I am sure you will never have a problem.

Also test the power reserve (if you must) after you have worn the watch everyday for a few months. You will see a marked improvement.
