This for that - 16800 for DJ41/white dial. Thoughts?

Had no feelings about the DJ41, especially with a white dial, until I saw it at the AD as a display/ try-on piece (no movement) while purchasing my OP41. It definitely sings WAY more in person than it does in pictures!

I bought the 16800 to wear specifically on a leather strap, but I've worn it more with the bracelet attached and I've been thinking that I 3 very similar sport watches with the Hulk, 16710 and the 16800 all kind of having the same look, style and feel.

The 16710 and Hulk are keepers (going to my two kiddos), but I've thought about moving the 16800 to make room for the DJ41 on jubilee / fluted bezel / white stick on white dial.

I could potentially keep them all, but I don't want too many watches sitting unworn.

Would love to see some pics of your DJ41 with white dial to sway me a certain way!

I love a matte dial 16800, but I see your point/thought process. Being that you have a 5 digit gmt, and a hulk, I would probably make that move. The white dial DJ will give you a great looking piece, that is totally different from your others. I agree…it’s a great looking watch

My thoughts exactly. It's to the point where I look at the 16800 and the 16710 together and I think - they're the same, especially on the wrist.

I would probably do it if you are debating it.

I have the white stick dial DJ41 with a fluted bezel and it’s definitely one of my favorites. The white dial just pops so much (I don’t know how to better describe it), but it really stands out. I had the option between it and the blue dial when I bought it, and in person to my eyes and taste the white dial just looked so fantastic. It really looks and wears wonderfully.

To me it’s a tough call though if it was me since I love the matte dial sports models especially with that nice bluish hue to the bezel like yours, but if you are not sold on it/ attached to it, and thinking about it I would do it.

Not the best picture but the only one I have at the moment.

No way I would let that 16800 go but I would sell the last 3 from your signature and replace with the DJ41.

Reverso was my wedding watch, and the Grand Seiko is just too nice.

I'm 60-40 on just keeping everything (the 16800 is a birth year, and I do love the fade of the insert)...luckily the wife is ok with whatever route I choose. She gets it.

Keep it! You can always get a DJ later but a birth year matte dial sub might be harder to find if you regret selling it.

The white dial DJ is a very fine specimen. Though, given you have a lot of SS and one RG piece, I’d suggest having a look at the TT DJ41 with a white dial as well. Such a beautiful watch that dresses up and dresses down however you want it to. TT is not for everyone, but if the SS DJ surprised you in person, the TT version might as well.

Here's my non-fluted, non-jubilee DJ41 white-dial. It's a cool watch with a great look. I can whole-heartedly endorse it. However, you might possibly end up missing the 16800 (unless you plan on getting another black-dial diver), so if you can keep both, that's the way to go. Regards, -Rick.

Wow tough call. I mean the DJ adds versatility to your collection but, that sub is fantastic. I would sit on it for say 90 days. After that if you still feel the same make the move.

Didn’t know Rolex had a black face with blue bezel. What’s it called

It's not - it's a faded insert for a 1983 16800. Birth year!

This right here would make it a tough decision for me. Obviously you saw some value in a birth year piece (as do I, currently looking for one!). I think the DJ would be a great add to your collection, but not at the expense of a birth year piece.

I would keep the 16800 , decent examples don’t come along everyday . But I’m obviously biased .

Worth it to add a jubilee to the collection. I’m also not a vintage guy, and you have another 5 digit anyways.

If in your shoes I’d get rid of the sub and GS to acquire a white Skydweller on jubilee.

Tough choice. I like both and the DJ configuration you're considering is one of my favorites (along with the slate dial).

Shoot me a DM before (if) you decide to move forward.
