Flashlights who makes the best?

Boring subject but who makes the best? I have a "cheaper Surefire" and I know Jack Bauer uses one also but I really dont want to pay 150 bucks for one.

I have a Surefire I got at a local "going out of biz" store for 40 bucks
last year before the hurricane.....Glad I had it.
I have never heard of Wolf Eyes and may get one to see how they comapre.
Im going to be spending a few weeks out in the "Texas Hill Country" at a friends house, house sitting for him along with his horses and animals and Im going to need some serious flashlight power

x2 I like the car charger as well as the house charger. I think many police departments use Streamlight.

Surefire, Streamlight, and I've had good luck w/ the Blackhawk lights (although I'm sure they're made by one of the big companies).

Neither, former military... now I do contract work for the US State Department (nothing covert, so no OPSEC issues).
I have an M900A and several of the hand held lights.
If you are a pistol carrier and wish to use a hand held light, look in to the Surefire combat rings and learn the Graham Method... In all my years of carrying, it is the best method of light deployment I have ever used.

I am in LE, and much prefer SureFire over Streamlight and Blackhawk. Many of Streamlight's models have dark areas whereas the SureFire normally does not, and many of Blackhawk's products are made in VietNam, so I don't purchase them as a political preference (no, I will not elaborate as to why so please do not ask). I carry a rechargeable SureFire, and have an M500A on my AR-15.

A Wisled Tactical is the light I dream of... kinda expensive and larger than the one I have now, but its tempting...

A good Magcharger by Maglight would probably produce a beam that reaches far enough, and its tough, tough, tough. No batteries to buy, and it can be had with both 120v AC and 12v DC chargers. I was around long before tactical lights, and IMHO will be around permanently, too!

Streamlight makes a great compact LED rechargeable (lithium rechargeable) . The Strion LED aprox. cost $104.00 U.S. The Strion LED weighs only 12.5 oz (the body of the light is made out of machined aluminum).

This light rocks as it is brighter than most LED lights (160 Lumens) its run/burn time is around 1.75 hours. Recharge time on a rapid recharger is 2.5 hours. This saves tons of cash as all my Sure Fire light batteries cost $2.00 a pop.

For a hand gun light it is very hard to beat the Surefire X300. It too is a LED light how ever you are paying Surefire prices at $178.00 U.S. the tail cap pressure switch is another $50.00 U.S.

The longer light is the Strion LED the shorter light is the SureFire X300.

I wish I could but I cant walk very far....we are helping out my wife's brother
while they go on a 7 day cruise to AK. They are suppose to be gone
13 days....so we have to make sure nothing gets the cattle at night.
I have a Surefire but I dont think the beam goes far enough for counting cows
in the dark and looking for Willy E Coyote

Surefire makes numerous models that will serve this purpose. However, you are looking at more than $150.

I've been using one of these as my EDC since they came out. Pretty good throw and easy to pocket carry.

Man, I never get asked to do the cool jobs!!!

I would use this as an excuse to invest in some night vision equipment, and a good 5.56 or .308 (assuming you don't have one already). Wiley Coyote would never know what hit him.

Either way, have fun on the farm.

I use a Surefire rechargeable for hunting. I have used about everything available in a department store in the past (Maglite, etc.), but Surefire is worth the money and the wait time when ordering, IMO. The only problem I have is the rechargeable battery is expensive and I don't seem to get many cycles out of one.

Surefire. Without a doubt some of the best you can buy. I picked up a Kroma not too long ago and its served me very well.

Lisa's husband in here to post my 2-cents worth. However, it's prob worth much less than that. Surefires do rock and I highly recommend but there are some other brands that can do the trick and maybe cost less. Most of mine are Surefires that I love (E1L, L1, L2, C2, M3...). All are LED or converts to. Streamlights are good too, but my "other brand" favs are Nitecore and Jetbeam. Excellent units for the money. Nitecore(4sevens.com) has some 180 lumen lights for 50-60 dollar range that are great reliable lights(also cont variable brightness 3 to 180 lums). I also have a Jetbeam Mil/LE that is great and was $90-ish from bugoutgear. Also have a great Blackhawk. I really think any of these would compete with the Sures. One option for Surefire is to look at CPF flashlight forums classifieds and look at the used lights. It's a flashlight freaks forum and they take care of their stuff(they do a lot of swapping before light gets used much). I bought most of my SFs there for MUCH less than new price. They are usually near new condx and a lot of times have orig box too. They post pics so you can see them. Your G2 LED is only 65 lumens so get at least dual level output with a high of 120 lumens or above. Also get CR123 powered and maybe 2-cell units for less freq batt changes. FYI I don't have any affiliation with any of the above-- just have a weird addiction to lights like all my hobbies.
