1997 Daytona 16523 with inverted 6?
I'm interested in buying this zenith Daytona 16523 from my local dealer.
It's a 1997 serial number with a 1988 clasp code, from my research the inverted 6 stopped in around 1993. Could this dial be original or would it have been replaced from an older watch? Any expert opinions please https://photos.app.goo.gl/sSFUYcZ1ewuVXUiQ7 |

Not an expert on these, but I think 1997 is too late for an inverted 6.
Here's a helpful chart (hat tip to @GB-man for posting in another thread) |

Some say it's possible to have them up to mid/ high S serials.

I would agree. based on my knowledge, the "S" serial numbers (circa 1993) is where you'll find the last of the "inverted 6" dials.
I have not heard of any being found with the later serial numbers, let alone the very late serial numbers. 1997 is almost in the luminova era for these watches.

How's it priced? Although not original it has a more valuable dial, so depending on pricing you may be able to swap out a period correct dial to help buy down your cost if you want to take on a bit of a project.

I did have a quick look at dials, found the inverted 6 available at £1200 and later dials at £800 so maybe not enough gain to make a swap worthwhile |
