Sub41 Bluesy…

There are a lot of positive reviews on the forum about Bluesy. Many of You have said that this is the most beautiful Rolex. Is it so? Is the color-metal combination really stunning and luxurious?

This.

I think the 5 digit is nicer than the 6's.

I wore a 116613LB for 2yrs daily, slowly the honeymoon wore off and gave way to hatred of the shade of the blue bezel. I sold that watch.

Exactly.

And as I've said on here before, to me the flat colour of ceramic bezel just clashes with the sunburst dial on the 6 digits (116613LB/126613LB) in person. The sunburst dial worked much better for me on the 5 digit with the aluminium bezel insert, while the flat ceramic bezel of the 6 digits is better paired with the flat blue dial offered on some of the early 116613LB's. JMO.

Exactly my thoughts too.

You are correct, the bezel was originally designed to pair with the flat blue dial on the early 116613 and it does that job perfectly well.
The sunburst blue dial in a 116613 was an afterthought from Rolex, a silent update due to the disappointment from many that the sunburst blue 16613 dial was not being carried over. They never updated the colour of bezel to match the sunburst blue dial. Sometimes in some lighting it can look odd in my opinion.

Here is my “flat” blue dial on my early edition 11 series Bluesy.

I am on the list to get the 12 series, and will have to compare, when I own them both.

First time I saw one in the display case and tried it on, I thought to myself, “wow, I want one.”

That’s pretty much the only explanation I have.

I’ll eventually get one.

Go see it at your local grey dealer.

I've been collecting Rolex for over 15 years now. The bluesy is still the watch that makes me go WOW everytime I see it.

The 6-digit is very nice but I’m more a fan of the 40mm 5-digit.
You need to see the 5-digit 16613/16618 Bluesy in person to see just how rich the blue dial is as photos struggle to capture its depth.
It is a unique blend of incredibly deep royal blue that looks like you can put your hand through it, similar to that of a deep liquidy paint job on a show car.
You should try to see them both in person.

Don't know about it being the most beautiful, that title falls on several models but it is striking. My cousin got one and it's simply stunning on the wrist.

It definitely strikes a great balance between a lot of things. A no-date Sub will be more sporty. A yellow gold Day-Date will be more flashy. A fluted/jubilee Datejust will be more dressy. But the Bluesy sits in this middle ground where it can be any of these things at all times. Poolside in the summer, dressed up for an anniversary dinner, sitting in the office, doesn't really matter. I just love looking at it in all environments. Even stuck behind a FedEx truck haha

Amazing watch if you're a fan of two tone.

I must be an exception. I am most definitely not a fan of two tone watches, but this just works for me. One of my favorite all time watches.

There is something about the Bluesy, no doubt.

I think it's a colorway that will go in and out of style/fashion - but for me - it's one I'd love to add to the collection to admire and wear. It does seem like they don't currently command a premium price, so if you like them, now might be the time to add one.

I really like and appreciate the look of this watch, but not something I could/would pull off.

It is very striking and nice to look at in my opinion.

The bluesy is an amazing watch. I love the look and weight of it. One of my favorite watches. If you can get one at retail you wont regret it. If later you decide it is not for you, it will be easy to sell on.

How in demand are these at ADs these days? Do they also require the nonsense spend history crap to have a chance at this?

No, I've been offered two from two different ADs since May. I bought the first one offered. The second was offered to me in December 21. I passed.

It was 2016 when I purchase mine at Tourneau in West Palm Beach. Was looking for a Submariner and try it on, WOW. I got it and took advantage of the 24 month no interested offer. Was my daily watch until 2020 when my Daytona Panda arrive. Great watch but is not for everyone, some people don't like the TT.
I personally love it.

In all honestly the bluesy was something that grew on me overtime. It was not love at first sight like the Sub, BLNR, or CHNR. But now I think it’s very charming.

Used to think TT Rolex are ugly, dated for old men but now I am at the right age to think it is good looking.
