Do I deserve a sports model? Haha

Hi guys, I got my first watch from my AD sales rep, fast forward 2 years later I bring friend and family to buy 1 panerai, 2 datejust so far.. and I have friend and relatives ordering 2 more datejust but still waiting for good news. IF all goes well I bring 6 watches sales to him, but is this enough for him to grant me a sport watch? I’ve been eyeing Pepsi or Batman jubilee for the longest time but I haven’t let him know yet. What are my chances ? Haha

You need to let him know what your interested in and point out how you've enjoyed your relationship henceforth you have brought him business.

If he won't allocate I would advise you to stop sending him business, he's a douche and doesn't derseve it

I’m thinking of letting him know my interest after we close the 5th and 6th watch deal, and yes you are right if i don’t feel he’s doing something then I might stop bringing him more sales.

I would’ve asked after the 1st or 2nd watch

Ask before. Not after.

If you cant get datejusts…it’s not looking likely you’ll get a GMT

I would assume the DJs wouldn't mean anything and the PAM wouldn't mean enough

Youre better off asking your AD what the deal is

This. The AD would’ve sold those DJs without your help. The Panerai scored some points but not nearly enough.

Just because the AD would’ve, doesn’t mean that SA would’ve.

In what universe do people not appreciate business anymore. The TRF Rolex Universe.

TRF logic where buying anything with market price higher than the retail price puts you in “relationship debt” with the AD

I think this logic is somewhat flawed and might only apply if you are dealing with a small shop and deal directly with the owner. My understanding is that SA are appreciative of you buy anything they offer you because they are in competition with their colleagues and there are only so few watches to go around. If I didn’t pull the trigger on a couple pieces that are considered hot skydweller SS or DD40 olive dial, most likely another SA would have gotten the commission.

Why don't you feel comfortable asking for one of those watches? Pepsi probably won't happen any time soon. Batman is more likely but amazing.

No one “deserves” one. Just be genuine with you SA about what you want and if he can’t deliver within a year, take your business elsewhere. Good luck!

The truth is tough. Buy more hublot and "we discussed further". Sadly thats the situation at Singapore. you "should be thankful" that we allocate a dj to you. :)

I think you have a marginally better chance at getting a GMT than the people you introduced to your AD have, as you all have equal spend history. Which is to say that you could get lucky, but I wouldn’t count on it. Your goodwill is appreciated, but as others have mentioned, not very valuable as the watches sell themselves.

I don't know your AD, but if it were me I would let them know what I wanted, and remind them of the business I've done with them and sent them in a casual, humorous kind of way. The last thing you want is for them to think that you're unaware of what you've brought to the table.

to have a guess in Singapore that is probably no where near close to what you'd need to get an SS Sport. TT sport maybe?

Does anyone really think that the poor chap at the AD really cares? It’s completely random at this point. That guy couldn’t care less if those two tone OPs go to you and your extended family or the next guy who walks in. Same salary, same commission if any. They’re probably laughing at you.

If you want Rolex at retail, we need the ADs or boutiques a lot more than they need us. Folks can refute it all they want but your money doesn’t matter anymore. Everyone has it and the ADs are choosing who gets to spend it.

Not sure it’s enough for a Pepsi yet, but you can only ask.

I think you stand a very good chance, but if you haven't tried and asked, then that is the first step you need to take straight away.

Tell your SA what you’re interested in. It cannot hurt, all they can say is no, or, give you an idea of a timeline. You have enough spend history to at least get a truthful answer from them.

"Deserve" sounds a bit odd but maybe relationships are more blatantly transactional at your AD? If it's simply a case of "if you buy X you deserve Y" then why not ask the AD? We can only guess, the AD can tell you. If they fail to produce the watch in the stated time frame you will know they are stringing you along.

Coming at it from another angle, if I'm the AD/SA and I know you as a customer who will drag in lots of sales and buy other watches in the hope of building a relationship (whatever that means), I'll keep bleeding you for as long as I possibly can.

As to the last part of your post, if you don't ask you don't get. If your AD doesn't know you want one, how will you get one from them?

Just ask. IMO the answer is yes but I’m not the one selling you the watch. See what your AD says, that’s all that matters

Your chance is as good as other VIP customers, better to ask your SA directly into possibilities.
