Hello to everyone, my first post in the forum...

I'm looking forward on buying a new Submariner 16613 (blue version). Reading a bit, I find several terms such as:

"M serial"
"NIB"
"ceramic bezzel"
"SS series"

Can anyone please explain to me what does this terms mean??

Welcome to the forum.

lots of abbreviations here..

M serial" = serial number starting with M= 2007/8 year
"NIB" = new in box
"ceramic bezzel" = bezel made from ceramic
"SS series" = stainless steel as opposed to two tone or all gold

1) M serial refers loosely to the year of production. The current year watches have a V serial number, ie "V123456'' inscribed at the 6 o'clock position on the rehaut or inner dial and also between the bracelet lugs.

V-serial watches would also have "ROLEXROLEXROLEX'' inscribed all around the rehaut. M series watches are likely to have been made in late 2007 and 2008 and I think all would have the same inscriptions.

2) NIB is a classic Black Sabbath rock song from the 1970s, but in these parts, it stands for "new in box''.

3) Rolex recently introduced a new ceramic bezel for its GMT Master 2 first, and later for the Deepsea Seadweller. It's supposed to be harder and more scratch resistant than the previous bezels. The new Steel/Gold Submariners launched this year will also have ceramic bezels.

4) I'm not sure about "SS series'' though I'm guessing this refers to "stainless steel''.
