Anyone hate the term/name "Bluesy"?
It sounds so dumb to me and every time I read it, I imagine something like this happening in real life.

Agee,... I find all made up names for watches dumb, especially 'kermit'.... It just puts me off wanting to buy a 'kermit'!
Truth is, I only like the red and blue bezel insert. |

Agree. I cannot stand the name. Any of them really except for Pepsi.

I have never been a fan of nicknames, I would rather refer to them by reference number.

Nicknames in general aren’t my favorite. To each their own.

Same for me strangely Pepsi or coke are the only ones that don’t sound embarrassingly silly. If I was wearing a YG sub and someone came upto me and called it a bluesy I would die from cringe

Not a big fan of this nick name. Or the soda pop ones either tbh. I do like the Sophia Lorraine >>>fat lady, steve McQueen, Paul Newman , and John Mayer only because they give them some sort of pinache as they are all icons imho. I think just a few pieces warrant these nicknames and now that just about every model has a nickname, it kind of waters down the meaning. Imho, new Daytonas with the Newman dial are not Paul Newman Daytonas etc. ymmv

Even before the massive proliferation of nicknames, "Bluesy" was very awkward sounding to me and I couldn't bring myself to use it.
Is it me, or has the horde of speculators and nicknamers diminished somewhat around here?

We’re only one (IG) generation away from models being called the “Rollie B” or “Rollie K”, etc. ad nauseum.
The old “traditional” guy in me is horrified, but the other (young in mind) me says let the young people have their day. If this is the future I’m ok with it. I still love my watches and I know they will too.

Maybe they're all on my "special list."

Can't stand any of them. Really makes the whole brand very childish to include the soda names as well.

Disagree…the attempts to make “Cookie Monster” and “Sprite” work are on my “worst” list.
A couple of my friends had one, and I just called it a TT blue Sub (but of course one word is easier than 4). I’m not a huge fan of Batman/girl, but in a way I get it. I’ve always called it the BLNR, but once it became available with 2 bracelets, it kind of made sense. |

I'm curious how that name actually gained any traction, and eventually stuck

I’m indifferent. But I believe it was coined by a now departed member here or some original members, and it prob made sense at the time as with most natural older nicknames where there wasn’t always a fictional superhero to reference.

Yup. I don't use the name much but I do remember it was JJ who gave it the name. Whenever I hear it it reminds me of him. I definitely do miss his posts and his knowledge.

I only tolerate it because JJ made it happen. Otherwise would not even care for it.
