Requesting Thoughts on Submersible BMG-Tech 692

I’ve been debating getting this watch for a while and really want to feel good about making a purchase. I like that it has a blue dial but am concerned the blue isn’t the best shade vs some of the other new PAMs that have been released with different blue dials (sunburst etc).

Also, I’ve thought of going with the simple 1305 which is essentially a black dial. Ultimately I like both the 1305 and 692. I know the BMG material is different but to me the difference comes down to dial color and I think the 692 being blue makes it special. Is it worth an extra $4k? I don’t know, maybe. So how good is that blue dial? I’ve only seen it in stores under artificial light. What do you guys think?

I have seen rare bmg cases defect in the earlier versions, so if you can avoid those its better.
If you planning to buy new you should be fine.

What kind of defects?

I was in a similar dilemma before, sell my 305 to purchase a BMG… but ultimately did not do it. BMG seems to be a thing of the past now so I’m retrospect I think I made the right choice.

I have one since 18 months approximately. I have worn it a lot recently. The shade of blue is dark and it will look almost black in some lighting conditions. Here is a picture from last winter.

Very nice.

Do you find the case/bezel holds up better against scratches compared to SS?

Go for it.
I like Panerai models with their high/tech materials. It’s refreshing and breaths new and unique life into the brand.

I owned a 1305, great watch but wasn’t a keeper for me. Have handled the 692 a few times, and blue dial really pops in the light. If you didn’t tell me I would have guessed the 692 was titanium based on look and feel but the BMG is a cool material, just very similar to titanium to the untrained eye. Can’t go wrong with either!

I’ve never handled one but they’ve always interested me as well. It’s a great looking reference
