Steel vs White Gold BLRO
Hi,
I may have an opportunity to purchase a white gold GMT BLRO with blue dial. I haven’t seen one in the metal, but picture wise it’s very beautiful but I’m not sure whether it’s worth it to get the white gold version over the steel version. I was hoping you could share some perspectives on this. I’m curious if you put on the WG version if you just get a special WOW factor that makes you smile over the steel, which already has a wow factor to it. Thanks!

WG is a grail. Would definitely get it if I had the opportunity, and I own a SS BLRO.

Had it. Loved it! I just like to trade around. I’ve asked for the meteorite dial version. But blue would be beautiful too!

While I’m sure they each have the blue dial too, but to be fair, it was the black dial WG version they got together when it first came out. I’d go SS between the two you mention. Obviously meteorite over all. The blue dial version is just too blue for me personally, especially in the daylight. For blue dials, I prefer a darker shade like the blue on the WG Daytona 116509. Tough for me as I have the WG blue and it was a grail for me but today the steel version is better. The one thing about WG that detracts from steel is that the color of WG has some yellowish hues to it. Need to see some side by side pics to compare but the whiter steel IMO works better with the Pepsi bezel. The blue dial is nice but it's a midnight blue and looks black sometimes. Longer term i do think the blue dial will be the more collectible one but today it's the steel.

I have the WG version and it is stunning every time I wear it in rotation. There is something about the hue of gold over steel that just looks special. And the weight, I love the feel of WG. It feels substantial. Go with the WG if you have a chance

Not the blue dial but the white gold has the most beautiful coppery/yellow hue to it. Its very warm on the wrist. Rolex white gold is beyond exceptional.

Rolex white gold is incredible. And the blue dial Pepsi is one of the next.
If you can get this watch, get it. I have the black dial WG and I’m considering adding the blue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

WG is always better and classier than SS but you have to pay a lot more.
SS Pepsi is really worth the money and good for daily wear. If you really want WG, I think it’s better to go all the way with WG Pepsi with meteorite dial, it’s one of the most gorgeous timepiece for Rolex. Secondary market price is coming down to $50k+ now.

The WG is beautiful and as mentioned the metal gives off a warmer hue. That said, it is out of my price range for what I will spend on a single piece. Everything else about the WG is the same as the SS.
The SS is certainly no slouch |

I have owned the WG BLRO and it is a very nice watch. I currently own the SS BLRO on Jubilee and like it better than the WG version. The Jubilee is great and I do like shinny watches and the Jubilee does it for me. I do not find the value for money in the WG version. Each of us is different so if the WG does it for you then go for it.

No way in hell I'd choose a SS GMT over the WG if it was in my budget.

The best of both worlds. WG definitely has a more special feel to it.

I don’t see the love affair with white gold. There is no visual difference in my eyes between stainless and white gold.

I like the look of the SS better, especially on jubilee with that black dial.
