Icon5 Datejust with 16233 and 16200 markings?

I may have an opportunity to acquire an one-owner Datejust from 1990 (E-serial series) but interestingly, the caseback serial is 16200 but the serial number engraved on the watch between the lugs says 16233. If I've understood correctly, it seems a 16200 is a pure Steel model whilst the 16233 is a two-tone model.

Does that mean the caseback was replaced at some point? I'm attaching photos to see if it helps?

Add* Also, it doesn't have a cyclops lens. Is that a normal thing? I thought all Datejusts were fitted with them.

May be possible that both models use the Sam case back as both have stainless steel cases, just different bezels and crowns. If not the case then the case back was swapped at some time

Based on what you've said and a look at the photos, you could be looking at a fake here.

Yep, something doesn't sit right with me. I might be wrong but experts on this forum might know better.

Understand that all DJ‘s came from factory with cyclops but the lack of it not necessarily means the watch is not genuine as some people dislike the cyclops and it might as such being removed or an alternate crystal been fitted. Have you evaluate / trust the seller? If in doubt just look elsewhere
