Printed vs Applied Rolex on dial

I’ve been looking at the manual wind 6426 models and occasionally will see one with an applied Rolex on the dial vs the more often seen printed Rolex. Were there certain years that had these applied?

Although I've never seen the back of one of these dials, I think the ROLEX script, and on some dials the hour indices as well, were stamped into the dial rather than applied to the front.

They seemed to be available for a short period around 1957, but I don't know if they were only fitted on certain models, or made for certain markets or any details of why some watches had them and other apparently identical watches did not.

Ditto - the 'Schnitzel' flattened crown makes appearance quite often ....there is even a lume on 12 o clock no lume on 6 o clock version if a recent post is to be be believed too.

Thanks for the replies. In a fit of spontaneity I ended up bidding on and winning the rough looking 6426 I posted above. It was an eBay purchase from a seller with a good reputation and was put through the authentication process even though I paid well under 2k for it. This could very well end up being a terrible move on my part but oh well. Had to see what the Rolex world is all about and a well used watch seemed to be my only way in. Horrible decision? Perhaps. I should know in a few days. I’ve read a bunch of positive reviews on EBay’s authentication process and just as many 1 star reviews. To be continued.
