blue yachtmaster: 116622 or 126622?

I'm looking for some quick thoughts on these 2 alternative yachtmasters. Note that I was active on this forum 10-15 yrs ago as I acquired a few rolex watches - which I still have. My daily wear is typically 1 of my 5 digit subs, with 1 of the daytonas rotated in. I had a YM platinum that I sold, which I liked. Seeing the YM blue has stirred my interest in getting one now. My interest in a YM blue is for my own personal enjoyment - which is why I own and wear a rolex watch.

The only difference between the 11 and 12 versions seems the movement (3135, vs newer 3235). So, am I missing any other differences worth noting (cost difference is a consideration, but not not the decision driver). Thx

I have the 126622, and other than the 3235 movement and a crown at 6 o clock on the face I don’t know of any other differences.

Get the 116 with the proven reliable 3135 movement, had 2 issues out of 3 watches with the 32 series movement, avoid like the plague I say!

Agreed. 3135 is a beast. Avoid 3235 for now.

I believe the newer 126622 has AR coating, but other than that they're pretty similar. The newer model may have active warranty and the newer bright green box/papers. I would look to a well taken care of 116622 and save yourself a couple thousand on the used market.

Buy the 11 series, better movement and cheaper. Win win

12 series looks the same except for the tiny crown at 6'oclock position. I believe it may have AR coating as well. Only other difference I know of is the extended power reserve and small component changes to the newer movement. I actually tried on the blue dial, slate dial first as I was obsessed over the slate, however once I tried on this TT with Chocolate dial I was done....my wife loved this one more also.

Differences have already been mentioned here so you’re not missing anything OP.

Go for the best one you can find at a fair price and you’re good!

I would personally always go for more modern movement option (as it is only difference). You get 70h power reserve vs. 48h in previous iteration. If you have more than few watches in your collection, for sure you can appreciate this feature.

Personally, I would go for the 116622 with the 3135 mvnt if given the choice. I don't need the extra power reserve, and the watch is identical aesthetically speaking.

If not, then 126622 and be prepared to pay a visit to the RSC sooner than expected, but hope for the best. My 126613LB has been super accurate for the past 3 years (-1 s/d on average, worn several days a week). However, the numerous reports of 3235 owners can not be ignored, even if anecdotal.

As said above look for the best price deal among 2 models, new model not worth the extra $$

Get the 11 series. Bullet proof, workhorse movement. This is the answer you are looking for.

I have the 12 and it's been solid for me. I got it just as the switchover happened and had to pay more on the grey to get it.

Just my opinion, since you are considering pre-loved, go for the 3135 and be a happy camper for life with that tried and true movement.
