Incoming 116500LN Panda

Wow I thought this day would never come. My ad reached out about a week ago just to say hello and wish me a happy bday and asked if i had anything planned. I said nope not really since this month has my mom and daughters bday and also a good college friends and mine was weeks away. She texted me yesterday and asked if I could come in sometime today but would not tell me what she had, just that it was on my list of wtb. There's only 2 left on the list the panda and blue skydweller and she gave me a thumbs up. When i sat down i ruined her surprise unboxing since i saw the card/model #. So for those wanting to know it took 3 yrs 7 months since asking, 22 months since I got the black dial and with this purchase ~$140k-150k spend history i cant recall. Requirement was $10k addition spend on diamond jewelry

Really? The way it reads he had a $150k spend history already and they made him pony up for MORE diamond jewelry to get the Daytona.

Wow congrats! Oh your watch looks so good!

But wow $150k spend history to save $15k for a Daytona. But if you're already gonna spend it then well worth it.

This ^ on all accounts. Looks good on you, and provided you had already planned to spend that $150K (plus another $10K) on jewellery, then it's a great result. (Far less so if you only spent that amount to get the Daytona!)

The spend history includes all the other rolex watches + additional spend. Maybe about 30% of that was additional spend, rest was the rolex watches at msrp

So, the Watch cost you $200,000 at the end of the day?

Yea thats been the norm for in demand watches. I initially was not happy about it back in 2020 but I figured I'd rather have it offered with terms than not offered at all. I was prepared to push back on the spend amount if it had been the blue skydweller. I did that successfully last yr on pepsi and they let me use the spend I made on a bb58 6 weeks prior

Very strange about the additional spend on jewelry. I could never do that but I know how great it is to get this Daytona. Fortunately I bought mine in 2016 from a Rolex boutique store where I had bought a DSSD Deep Blue a year earlier as my only spend history with them…

I don't like the ask for additional spend. Feels wrong.

Yeah, it feels pretty blatant…

But it is transparent, I suppose. And perhaps the ultimate required spend isn’t different from other retailers.

I think I’d feel better if there was a clear, pre-defined purchasing history amount required (which the $10k would just get you to). Otherwise it seems a bit arbitrary on the AD’s part.

Regardless, hearty congratulations on the acquisition and the provision of information. Can’t see myself ever getting an 116500LN.

Definitely don't care for getting bamboozled with an additional spend requirement, just not a good business practice IMO...buuuut, that is a great watch, congrats and enjoy OP!
