Retirement Gift from Co-Workers (Tudor Royal)

I will be retiring next month and went on my final business trip this past weekend. All of the sales representatives that I work with threw me a party and gifted me this nice 38mm Tudor Royal. This was not a company gift. Not knowing that I collect watches, they chipped in to get this great gift for me which I am thoroughly enjoying. One of the reps told me they wanted to get me a Rolex but then saw the prices :)
The watch is not COSC yet it keeps time better than my Black Bay 36. The first 3 days that I wore it, it gained a total of 3 seconds. Even though there are no micro-adjustments it is also quite comfortable to wear. I usually go for 36mm watches but this definitely works for me.

Congratulations on the watch and your upcoming retirement! It is good to hear your coworkers stepped up with few companies doing anything special for retirement anymore.

It ticks all the boxes for a great memento of a career well done (as noted by your colleagues), a token of esteem among them, and a lifetime keepsake.

While I’m not a fan of engravings myself, this may be a case for some apt use of the company logo + a motto + a date inscribed on the caseback.

Retirement Gift from Co-Workers (Tudor Royal)

Congratulations! Kudos to such thoughtful coworkers/friends. A shame that companies and corporations no longer reward loyalty.

By the way. The Tudor T601 in that watch is interesting as it can be either a Selita SW-200 or an ETA 2824-2. Either way, it will be chronometer grade ebauche that Tudor modifies with their own components and regulated to meet COSC standards.

Clearly you treated others with respect and dignity during your career for them to come together to gift you this.

Enjoy your Tudor in health and safety for many years and congrats on your retirement!
