124060 bracelet clasp length?

I have a 5 digit Sub Date that wears well on my 6.75” wrist. I was planning to add a 124060 to my collection, but now I’m wondering if the bracelet clasp will be too wide to fit comfortably. Does anyone happen to know what length of the bracelet clasp is on the current Sub? I’m also interested in the length of the current GMT Master Jubilee clasp, in case the Sub clasp is too long. Thanks!

46mm for the Sub

There is no way then to try and see for yourself. Wrists are too different. I didn’t like the feel of a 114060 but the 124060 is great.

I concur.

I have tiny little flat svelte wrists. The 114060 felt like an anchor, and I don't even realize that I'm wearing the 124060 most of the time.

It's absolutely worth trying one on to see how it feels.

I own both but have never measured them. What I will say, it’s that the Submariner clasp feels huge compared to the clasp on the GMT.

The clasp is my major complaint with the new submariners. As another noted, you’ll have to try it to see if it works for you.

Yeah I was in the same situation. It was kind of annoying that the giant clasp on my 124060 meant that I was only really using a couple of links on each side of the bracelet, which rendered the much lauded comfort of the oyster bracelet pretty much moot. My wrist is around 6.5 inches, for reference sake.

Also compare the clasp measurement to the mostly flat area on the underside of the wrist. Small wrists that are flat (increased anterior and posterior surface area will do much better with the length of the 12 series clasp.

And don’t only compare the outside dimensions, but the inside. There it is not a huge difference.

Wow, I am really glad that I asked! I think 47mm is too big for my wrist. Even though my wrist is slightly wider than that, I think it would look odd to have the clasp nearly fill the entire width. So, I will take a look at the GMT.

I bought a 36mm DJ 126234 last year and I really like the Jubilee bracelet. The clasp on my DJ is 37mm, which is a good size for my wrist.

Does anyone happen to know what the length of the Explorer 36 is? That might be a good option too, although quite different from the Sub and GMT.

Yes. I was also surprised. Bought a 14060m after the 114060 and was wearing this for years. Now with the 124060 in house it does not make it to my wrist anymore :/

I tried on a 124060 Sub and a 126713 GMT yesterday. The clasp on the Sub almost fills the width of my wrist. The clasp on the GMT is MUCH smaller. The Sub might work, but I don’t want to roll the dice on that, so I asked my SA to remove me from the Sub list and add me to the GMT list. I really like the Sub, but the GRNR GMT may be the best looking current model. The only downside is the extra cost and wait time. I hope I get one before too many price increases!

Where i live it seems a lot easier to get the GRNR than the Sub…firsthand experience of mine. But then i got on the list the day it was unveiled. It was instant love ( and still is)
