Challenge Coins
I have been meaning to ask here but just finally remembered while I'm online, are there any military, law enforcement or government people here that trade challenge coins? I am in law enforcement here in Pensacola, Florida and my office just had our second batch made up and they are very nice. They have a shot of Pensacola Beach (the most beautiful beaches in the world) and the Blue Angels with our badge on the opposite side. I'll post some pics later if anyone is interested. Have many to swap. Thanks for looking.

Chris, I'm a deputy sheriff. I don't have coins but I can get together some pins, key chains and patches for one. Let me know, Mark.

I'd love to, but all of mine are back in the US, in storage. I only have a few with me at the moment, mostly from US Navy surface ships, and diving units. "
Anyway, please post some pics. I used to love swapping these when I was in the military. I collected some neat coins from some of the special units around the world. Cheers!

I have never actively collected coins..
But, I have been associated with some activities during my career, even though that career was not in the uniformed services............ I've managed to keep several coins when I retired that have some meaning for me..........

Here's the two coins I could find (the kids absconded with at least one other that they'll admit to, possibly two). But, the coins pale in comparison to the patches my father and I collected from the US submarines we worked on (as civilians). All of the patches were received from the ship itself, not bought on eBay or anything.
Although my father retired 11 years before I went to work at the same agency, we rode a myriad of the same boats, for similar and different reasons. Anyhow, take a peek at the patches. This is most of them, but some of the speciality patches are in the safety deposit box (Trieste is one of them, USS Nautilus is the other, along with the NS Savannah) Now for some of the sub patches: And why not a Submariner for the SUBDEVGRU2: And now some what about a Submariner for the sub tender:

Wow!!! That's sweet looking w/ the blue angles & the beach!
If I can remember, I'll take some pictures of the last unit coin I got from the MDSU in Little Creek. I also have a ton of patches, as I spent a lot of time doing work on submarines. Between my father and I we have ridden about 40 fast attack & ballistic missle submarines in the last 35 years, and have a bunch of patches (mostly my fathers). I'll snap a few shots of them also.
