I buying what you are selling..

The no date really transforms the watch IMO, the dial is spectacular.

Although I do give some love to the L.U.C 1860. Similar dial color and simply perfect as a dress watch.

Chopard had a great year.

The nicest imitation is a Philippe Dufour.

You're a bit confused on which reference came first. Probably best to do a bit of research before making such a statement.

ETA: now reading it back, I can't tell if you have a grammatical mistake ("nicest imitation OF a Philippe Dufour") or are highlighting that the Simplicity is an imitation of the 1860. I'll leave my original comment up regardless - but emphasize the 1860 came first by a few years and also used Metalem before PD too.

The 1860 is one of the most beautiful watches and increasingly difficult to find, especially in white gold. I wish I bought one when they were still under the radar. There’a also the quattro line of watches with the 1.98 Geneva Seal movement. They have the PR indicator at 12 which somewhat interrupts the balance but they do away with the date. Metalem dials too.

I like all the Chopards posted in this thread. I was reading the other day how the older St. Moritz family was the sort of inspiration for the newer Alpine Eagle family.

I have a soft spot for the old 1860 series, especially with the date complication. Below is PT/silver dial and WG/salmon dial.

In December 2015, I attended a presentation by Philippe Dufour in which he used this movement to compare with his superior finishing. I took the fact that he picked the L.U.C 1.96 movement as the basis for this comparison as a real compliment to Chopard.
