16610 back from RSC.
My Submariner from 2008 I bought new just had its first overhaul. I've taken pretty good care of it so it needed only minor external care and although the piece was keeping to +1 sec a day or better, it's power reserve was diminished some so I knew it was time about 3 months before I dropped it off at a local RSC 13 weeks ago.
It's amazing what they can do to restore their timepieces to near like new condition. I do have the same feeling I had way back when as I strapped it on the first time. Untitled by , Untitled by S., Untitled by S., Last edited by Slammintone; 28 March 2024 at 10:15 AM.. Reason: None |

Have to agree but many on forum belong to the anti polish brigade,as some state that they have seen many with poor polishing jobs and could ruin the case.Myself been around Rolex watches for over 50 years, and been on this forum since it started and never seen what I would consider a poor polishing job done by any RSC.

I’m probably more on the side of the anti polish brigade’s side. Although my AD offers a free yearly spiffing up of watches and bracelets I’ve not taken advantage of that service for my Sub. I have let them practice on my Omega a time or three and found them to be extremely careful and good about not overdoing anything and in fact, they were excellent at restoring a factory like finish each time. However, reading through many watch forums and seeing pictures of Bubba-buffed carnage done to some fine timepieces has made me weary about having that done to my timepieces. So, now that my AD is now a RSC still using the Rolex factory trained watchmaker who’s looked after my other watches I let them do their thing on the Sub without worry. I did keep the original aluminum bezel which has some slight but honest wear. Could have changed it but wasn’t really necessary. Likewise there’s the slightest feint scratch on the crystal Id never saw, could have replaced that but they didn’t insist it was necessary either so, it stayed.
It’s been a heck of a nice watch and tough as nails and reliable to a fault. |

If it’s in Valparaiso then yeah. That’s the place. We are very lucky to have an RSC near home. 25min trip for me each way. But I would have trusted their watchmaker to handle the overhaul even before they became a service/warranty center. He was always that good.
